Ordered from RK, now it just arrived into my post office today, hopefully I can pick him up tomorrow. Crossing both fingers for my MP12 and MP13 have no issue.
Really? The guy even said that it was his fault. I think people complaining about the minor qc problems is starting to get dumb. The guy with the obvious scratches on the tape window and the guy with the "ringworm" face have legit gripes. But man, I can't believe what some people are complaining about as "qc" issues. Yes, I get the fact that it is an expensive toy, but when people are complaining about a tiny paint smudge or scratch that isn't even visible unless you stare at the figure closely - sorry - that isn't a qc issue. Anybody else think the "qc" complaints are starting to be a little over the top? Or am I just in the minority?
Its pretty much people popping in trying to justify why they're "waiting for the Hasbro version" *waits for the one person who can buy it now but chooses not to for "x" reason explain*
Well I finally got around to taking Soundwave out of his packaging....and as I was dealing with his left hand, the index finger flew off. That happend for a total of 3 times..... and the nerveracking experience of looking at the floor to find a small finger. Also I did notice the nick on his face plate on the left side (right side when looking at his face) you would think that the runner would be done more along the bottom or back of the face plate. Other than that, MP Soundwave is AWESOME! I cannot wait for his other cassettes to be released, hopefully ratbat, overkill, and slugfest will also be released. Oh and on a side note and I am really upset that this happend, I dropped laserbeak onto the floor. Twice.. once while in mid transformation, and the second when trying to get him to perch on Soundwave's shoulder.... I looked at laserbeak and everything seems fine, should I worry? I am pissed that I dropped him, so if anyone could let me know I would greatly appreciate it. Other than that.... it is a shame that this MP Soundwave is only missing what music label soundwave featured.
No, you're right. Other than the 2 posters, IMO QC for Soundwave has been pretty good. Definitely not as nightmarish as compared to the first production run Rodimus. The finger issue could be a problem that was why I posted its potential problem on the first page. Just be careful or maybe a dab of translucent nail polish to tighten the joint.
I got my MP Soundwave today and the joints on my copy is good , but the paint job on the face definitely was touched up around where they cut the plastic off the runner. Furthermore, on his right arm there is significant paint chipping. I'm going to try to touch the paint up on the chips. Do guys think the silver paint on Soundwave is more of a matte, satin or gloss finish?
Call it personal preference. I play with all my toys, not just displaying them. Tht includes all my Macross Valks.
this color look similar to the amazon jetwing prime guns and the silver paint from painters permanent markers works super nice I will try this first my friend here paint his and look great walmart sell them from 1.99 and up
Not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but the sensor can attach to the port on the right side of the tape deck mode. It doesn't seem to have any purpose though.
Yippee, just got my MP-13 today, everything looks good until RK forgot to send my MP-12 Sideswipe agrrrr...... I ordered both MP12,13 the same day on June 2012. Do they normally shipped out in 1 box or 2 box?
I just opened mine up, damn it, I have paint cracked on the left side of the mouthplate. It's really bug me when you see the cut especially when there's no light to blend the silver. Also at the top of his forehead in triangle area, he's missing the silver paint: Not sure what to do, to exchange or not. First RK didn't include my MP12 and now only to find out from this MP13.
Yup, be careful around that silver paint. I have some scratched on his arm. Depending on what the lighting is it isn't that noticeable, but in some lighting it can look really bad. I think I might be able to find so paint to cover it though, if I wanted to...
When ever I think that there's a crack or a scratch on my Soundwave it's actally a piece of hair or dust.
Thanks for the tips guys. I popped by my local K mart yesterday and they had some rustoleum aluminium silver paint that bonds to plastic. I used that paint, masked the entire arm except for the spots where the chips were. I sanded some of the areas where the chips and paint bubbles were with a super fine grit sandpaper. Now my MP soundwave's arm is much better looking. The paint I used is about a 90% match to the tone and finish of the original silver. Much better now.
