Deszaras is EASILY my favorite Victory figure. This emperor is truly a beast!

However, with the prices he fetches now, I doubt I'll ever own him again.

If Takara does in fact expand the Encore line to more ambitious reissues, I really hope Deathsaurus/Deszaras, Overlord and some of the other large Japanese G1 figures get a shot. I'd love to own a pristine version of this guy without having to pay a fortune.

I just assembled one last week. Very nice kit, but mostly it just makes me want the 'real thing' even more. :lol

    Yeah, it transforms. ;)

Honestly..I just think that when a review is posted in the NON video reviews with a bunch of pics and a link to a video...its kinda shady.

You took a bunch of pics, I have no incentive to watch that video, bro! why dont you take 5 min, break down where this thing comes from..WHO the heck it is..what it does..Just a paragraph or something. Otherwise it should go in the video review section.

Not trying to be a dick..but you did put in in the pictorial review section! review the dern thing!

Actually its for feedback. Doesnt need super long reviews. Just as long as it gets people talking about it I'd say :)

Look at some of the other guys reviews they do. I'm not going to name names, but they do a GREAT job, taking some obscure character...slugslinger...or some beast wars insect that noonday give a shit about..and they spend a bit of time, type out something..THAT'S what gets people talking..

This? This is more like "look what I just bought off eBay"

I'm not tryin to beat the wither down..bit this is such a lazy approach. What year did it come out? Does it have any gimmicks? What are those minions?

Deszaras was part of the Victory toyline in Japan that came out in 1989. He was part of the sub set know as the "Breasmasters"; transformers with detachable chest plates that could transform into an animal partner or a weapon. So they're kinda like Targetmasters 2.0. Deszars is unique since he's the only one with 2 partners, the other six smaller ones only have one each.

Deszaras is also famous for being the last Decepticon leader you could buy a toy version from the G1 cartoon continuity. He ruled the Decepticons after the fall of the tandem of Black Zarak and Overlord, who were the leaders following the short rule of Scorponok, who ruled after the reign of Galvatron, who was the evolution of Megatron. He's also sought after because his toy was only available in Japan for one year.

The way Takara is going, it's probably only a matter of time until the Victory toys get reissued. Hasbro may do an homage to Deszaras using a Beast Hunter mold or possibly the new FOC Grimlock, but that's only speculation.

I have one complete with box. I like it, it was my grail figure for almost 10 years. Would I recommend him...not sure. He's a beast former like the Dinobots, he's an obscure G1 character that only appeared in one regional market, and he usually commands a high price in any condition. He may be better suited for the serious G1 collectors than the casual collector.

Acadian sums everything up nicely. I would amend his last statement to say that a KO of Deathsaurus is well worth the money to a more casual collector that enjoys Japanese G1 molds. Then, if you really like it, you could consider an upgrade to the real deal. I recommend this process for any high-end transformer with a readily availible KO.

    Awesome.

Thanks! Thats all I was saying. I just think if your gunna take the time to post a "review" give us guys that never seen this before the run down.

I cant tell you how many times someone posts a "retro" review or reviews something old/forgotten, and I end up liking it.

Pretty cool, So the chest armor was a beast that transformed? I dig it..cool

Oh, and you said this was a domestic Hasbro release for just one year?
