It should. Wheeljack's chest looks to be one of the parts not remolded, so the socket should be identical.

 

This deserves a bump. Pulling the wing roots out along the hinge shafts actually helps poseability quite a bit, and I didn't discover it except by accident after several days of fiddling with him.

 

Yes it does. I stuck Dead End's head on BH Wheeljack for kicks since the colors match really well.

Any one have thoughts as to why the disc has a hinge to open it up? Can you use it as "stasis cuffs" on the beasts?

 

I think this figure may be a candidate for a HotRod in the future with some new parts added.

 

Yup, I think it is designed to be a stasis collar for the dragon necks.

Opening it up also allows the disc rim to slide into his hand without stressing the hand's plastic.

 

Also just discovered that FOC Kickbacks disc will fit and fire in Wheeljacks weapon - not 100% snug fit but it works.

 

Have any of you experimented to see if Wheeljack or Dead End's Swords can store in Beast Hunters Wheeljack's back clips at all ?

Or are they to small ?

 

I love how much more green this figure has compared to the original. And the black plastic provides a lot of good contrast. I managed to snag one with less marbled plastic than most BH Wheeljacks I see. The downside is both of his shins are wobbly loose.  

Is he a better figure than RiD Wheeljack? No, but I like the aesthetics (they're wild and different) and I love the figure. Probably the only BH TF I'll be getting other than Smokescreen.

 

I really hate how the wings interfere with the shoulders in robot mode.

 

Just got this guy today on a whim because of the half off sale at TRU and the cool pics I had seen online. Very happy with him, he takes the original Wheeljack, which I already liked, and added more awesome!

 

Like some sort of odd Gundam there...............

 

I'm a big fan of the PRID Wheeljack mold, and while I'm not very fond of the Beast Hunters aesthetic in general, this is one of the few I definitely plan on picking up. ...even if only to turn him into a Hot Rod, ala Josh's rendering.

 

I just got this guy today, and no, the swords don't fit in the same place on the original. The hole is far too small, I can't even get the tip in.




The elbows on mine are super weak so he can't hold his giant weapon unless I have him hold it with both hands. But other than that I'm really liking this guy. The white plastic is more green than I expected but I'm very fond of off-whites. I really like the painted eyes; they look much better than on the original to me. He still looks cool with swords too.


I have yet to transform him into vehicle mode so I have no thoughts on that yet.

EDIT: Mmkay, I got him into vehicle mode. I transformed PRiD Wheeljack a million times but I had some trouble getting all the spikes around each other at first. It's totally worth it though. Mine rolls pretty well.


Oh, and a sidenote, you can still put Wheeljack's swords on the front in vehicle mode. It fits in with how rediculous everything else is. I love it!

EDIT2: I looked at him some more and you can still store the swords under the car too. So basically, the only ssword storage he lost is in robot mode. But I'm sure these little sidenotes are pretty much me stating the obvious. But honestly, when don't I?

 

I bought this guy yesterday, really wish I had gone after the normal PRID version of him. I knew when I looked at the package that I wasn't going to like those wings, and I really don't. I guess I wanted to see what the Beast Hunters Line was going to bring to the table, but I'm not too terribly impressed. Smokescreen might be the only other deluxe I get from this(at least of all we've seen so far). I'm not gonna return him or anything like that, but I might buy a PRID Wheeljack for him to morph back into.

 

I really like the look of it... the vehicle mode looks kind of like some race car from Speed Racer outfitted for hunting zombies. Not a fan of the colors, though. I might be tempted if they repaint it (not sure what colors I'd want it in, though; maybe if they did SG Drift-inspired red with black and white accents?).

 

To put more fuel on the Rodimus fire, if you pop the wings off and flip how they are attached, you've got BH style Rodimus wings! They do still get in the way of the shoulders, but not as badly as out of the box. I'd take more pics, but mine is currently drying.
