Optibotimus will have a video review in I'm guessing 2-3 days.

I fail to see how asking for more and better pics is "being disrespectful". Seriously, people need to grow a thicker skin.

Following the suggestion of ex dtw2003, I'll just contribute my FOC Grimlock pics and opinions to this thread.

    Some in-package pics:

Bot mode is pretty much awesome: it's big, it looks great, very poseable, and priced reasonably. And DAT lightpiping...

    Lighting gimmick:

Dino mode is just okay. It has its flaws looks-wise, but it's not terribly bad. Judge for yourselves.

Okay, now we go to the figure's ISSUES.

Biggest one is its hollowness. It's really hollow everywhere. But I think that's something we should expect of mainline figures for the foreseeable future, so there's nothing much we can do about it short of a boycott.

Another issue I have with the figure is that the switch for the lighting gimmick does not lock into place (as far as I know). It feels like those PRID Powerizer weapons all over again. This figure would have been immensely more awesome if there was a locking mechanism.

The only problem I've had with paint are these small red smudges, which I think is just specific to mine. Overall I think the paint job on this figure is better than that of other FOC figures.

Final gripe, the lack of hip articulation in dino mode. As you can see, in this mode the hips are locked into place in the hollow of the torso. Which means you only get rotation at the knees, resulting in very limited posing.

Well, that's it. Overall, despite the flaws, I still really like this figure. In my opinion it's the best looking representation of the character out there, for the price. It will fit any classics/FOC/WFC collection nicely. That said, I would not pay premium, import price for it, no matter how shinier the Takara version turns out.

Last photo with Arms Micron weapons.

I'll try to post comparison pics with other figures later. :)

    ...Seriously?

Is a statement of fact that is not directed at anyone. It is a statement that is made from observation, which I agreed with at the time I saw it. He did not insult you at all, and yet you call that disrespectful? What's worse is that parrot that "agrees" with you.

You need to chill out. Unless ex dtw2003 said something along the lines of "This thread desperately needs some better quality pics because the OP is a stupid idiot who can't take photos," then you are justified claiming disrespect. However, he did not say anything to that effect.

So in essence, you're trying to make it sound bad when it really isn't at all.

Oops, I did not know anything about issues that have surfaced in this thread in the past couple of pages prior to my post. OP, I do not mean any disrespect by posting my pics on your thread. Just thought posting them here would be better than starting a thread of my own. I hope you don't mind.

Your thread would've been merged with this one anyways, haha. Thanks for the pics though. No offense to the OP, but your pics are what I was looking for. You showed me angles of the shoulders and the legs that I was looking for, and the high quality really helped me to see the details. As someone who likes to repaint details to suit me better, having high quality is important to me so I can pre-plan paint jobs and get an idea of what to do.

How does it look if you do Dino mode without collapsing the shoulders in ( and would that help dino articulation)

But as I said in the news and rumors section.

This guy is awesome and I actually like the Dino mode as much as I do the robot mode from the pics I have seen.

And to the grippers and complainers....... It's grimlock!

Who cares if it's hollow it's a fucking grimlock that turns into a t-Rex. That's awesome and he isn't a small deluxe with gogo boots with a plug on tail. Did I mention he is a voyager and that he is awesome!

I tried that, but then the hips would be loose laterally, making him prone to do the split and make it almost impossible for him to stand. I'll post pics later when I get home.

My biggest gripe in the pics seems to be the not-metallic beige color of his chest. Is that better in person? I was expecting gold, not brown, paint from the protos.

It's cool. I said there are better folks out there with better tools, this is one example. Nice pics.

I think if the dino head were bigger it would probably give the form a better look and offset the huge tail somewhat.

You made me want him more now, I thought he would be as tall as FE Prime at best.
THE RETURN OF NORMAL SIZE- naw, just a fluke.
I wonder how big SOUNDWAVE is compared to FE Prime, since he's taller than Grimlock?

Some more pics. I apologize, I won't open my MP Optimus and FOC Dudicus just to take comparison pics.

Pics of hips expanded in dino mode. I was mistaken, it stands up well enough. But hip joint rotation is still clumsy, and I don't like the way it looks.
