The disc shooter can clip onto the insect legs on his back in alt mode and bot mode alike.
And uhm, the swords can go in his hands, yes.

Ok...he's saying he can hold the swords in bot mode. With his robot hands.

In big mode his disc shooter can store on the top most bug arms (with pincers on them) amd the swords can store on those same arms via the 3mm clip on the inside.

I just got this guy, and I think xMostWanted559x's unanswered question is how to clip the disc shooter on his back in bot mode. According to the http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/793498-foc-kickback-leg-mod.html thread, ClutchKick said

I can't quite figure that out myself, BUT you can actually clip the disc shooter on to the long legs (arms?) (just as you would do it in alt mode, the shooter sort of "slides" under the little hooks near the joint on the legs). However it makes the figure very back heavy.

Yes! And it looks exactly as ridiculous as that sounds. :lol

Jokes aside, I like this figure, it's a lot of fun and definitely has a "ninja" vibe going on. Lots of nice detailing throughout.

Thanks for that, I will give that a try.

The other alternative I was describing was to fold the long pincer legs downward and hook the disc shooter, much how it is done in alt. mode in post 1503 of that thread (just imagine in bot mode instead).

I think you can still do it, but if you want the pincers above his head, the launcher faces the wrong direction. (It can only attach one way.) Oh, nm, I didn't see what direction you were talking about.

I think the disc shooter makes a better Insecticon/Decepticon starship.
There's even a little cockpit window in there. The swords make decent wings pegged into the back of it. Powered by dark energon.

Anybody here knows if we're getting Bombshell and Shrapnel? Are they going to be retooled from Kickback?

I Finally got a Kickback last weekend. Funny, in my mind I keep calling him Insecticon, it's probably because of the drone head.
It would be interesting if he was retooled with a G1 head, and tabs for the abdomen so that the FOC versions would be the clones/drones for a retooled Kickback to command.

Kickback's alt mode does not suck.

Wait, let me try that again.

Kickback's alt mode does not have to suck.

    Yeah, that's more accurate.

Want Kickback's alt mode to look like something other than an apathetic jumble of bug parts that decided to take a nap?

Want to tell people that you actually like Kickback's alt mode better than his robot mode, and not be lying?

Fall of Cybertron Kickback – Leg Mod and Better Alt Mode

As for the rest of Kickback, it's a really great update for the character. The colors are vibrant, especially the purples, and I appreciate that in bot mode the insect wings are up and facing backwards like the G1 version.

I don't care about the weapon, though I appreciate the effort.

Kickback also feels like a beefy deluxe. Part of it is probably how big his (modded) alt mode is, but it's also got none of the hollowness people have been complaining about recently with HasTak mainline products.

As someone who really didn't like the look of FP Backfirey, I'm glad HasTak made this FOC version. Now make the other two!

Great tutorial Matt, very easy to understand and great pictures for reference.
I really hope they release the other 2 insecticons but Im not going to hold my breath.
I think gave us Grimmy and Kickback just to shut us fans up.

Would be nice to have a complete set of insecticons though.

Oh, and Kickbak is an awesome figure, best in the FOC line so far.
I got the Tak version but I think I like the Hasbrow colours better.

Thanks for the mod Matt - after I passed on him yet again...

Anyway - with this mod, is it possible to have his body dropped lower to the ground, while still keeping the extended leg straight?

^^. @ Matt that is a great post and mod. And I happen to find Kickback to be an awesome figure. I like him much better than I ever liked the G1 Kickback I got for Christmas in '85 (granted I received Optimus and Trailbreaker the same day so poor Kickback was set up for failure). That mod alleviates the only real gripe I have with the FOC figure. Tks for putting it up!

    No problem. :lol

And yes, you can angle Kickback's body however you want. It depends on how you pivot it at his robot mode hips and robot mode knees. Doing so can lower it and make it parallel to the ground. :thumbs2:
    Thanks! Glad I could help.

Yeah, I like that mod. Have you tried tucking his feet into the shins like in the post at the bottom of this page?
If you do, you can see that the bottoms of the feet look a little bit like thrusters (see follow-on post on the next page of the thread).

    Better bug mode

I agree that Kickback has a great robot mode, but his grasshopper mode is pretty crappy. The wings are pretty much useless and the grasshopper legs do no work as grasshopper legs no matter how you do it. But I got to thinking that he is supposed to be a pre-earth version, still on cybertron. So why would he have a grasshopper mode. That is what he became when he went to earth and scanned for an alt mode. So I came up with what I think is a better bug mode. It is more fierce and evil looking. I do not use the wing inserts or weapon, both of which are pretty lame (IMO). Not using the wings lets the pincher arms position forward over the bug head. I imagine him grabbing a bot or whatever with the pinchers, and using the tiny front legs to shove his "food" into his mouth (obviously the front arms do not move, so use your imagination). But for those who must have the weapon included, I have an option for that too. Leave the wings attached to the weapon and push the pincher arms straight back over the thorax, then attach the weapon. It still is a little bulky on the back, but it looks like little insect wings sticking out to the side. I also (sort of) like attaching it in robot mode in the same way, and it looks like a kind of cool flight pack. I need to figure out how to put pics on here, so once I do I will show you all the "better bug mode" as I call it. I also have a robot attack mode that uses the different leg transformation I figured out.

Nothing can save that shitty figure, not even that mod.
