Plus my deluxe Soundwave was gifted with extremely floppy ball joints at the hips and ankles. I compared both versions in both modes today and concluded that I should either donate the deluxe to the poor or throw it in front of an oncoming bus.

    So yeah, finally got Soundblaster.

Buzzsaw is better than anticipated. Despite having zero points of useful articulation, it's still a neat little guy. Best autotransform of the bunch, of course. Honestly, way disappointed with the minions as a whole.

I had hoped getting Soundblaster would improve my opinion of the minions. But... nope. Takes too much work to get them in, "deploying" them is... not... effective. Usually the first one just plops out, while the next two get launched across the room from the force needed to make it do anything. And he looks just weird with his chest open.

However, Soundblaster on his own... is excellent. I lament the lack of a handheld weapon, but I'll make due. He's big, solid, has a nice alt-mode for a Cybertronian figure, and his colors look great. He's nice and stable, and improved by the massive amount of clear plastic. His proportions are much better than the Deluxe (which was previously easily the best Soundwave mold since G1, barring ML). He's barrel chested, which just looks good (especially since G1 Soundwave had such a wide chest).

Here are the ways I think the figure is inferior to the WfC Deluxe:

    - Chest opening: WfC could open his chest slightly, to give him a nice pose for looking like he's deploying.
    - Wrists: While the ratcheting joints are nice and solid and feel great, the wrists (not the swivels, the hinges to get them into place in vehicle mode) are a biiiiiiiiiiiiit weak and seem to lack tabs to get them into place in robot mode
    - Lack of 5mm holes: Not only did they not give him a handheld weapon, but they also gave him much less storage, so even if you find a suitable gun, he can't keep it in vehicle mode.
    - Lack of posable "fangs" in vehicle mode: That was the best part of WfC Soundwave's vehicle mode.

This seems like a lot of complaints, but they're fairly minor. The upsides outweigh them, and this is an improvement overall, and one of the better Voyagers I've gotten in a while (... except for GDO Powerdive. Love that guy).

got him, like him...but not sure what to do with him lol

my only small complaints are the wrists and how they function. way too easy to hit and stick back inside the forearm, and the vehicle mode is a little too chunky. nothing bad, just little nit picks

So I've seen a few people now attaching Laserbeak to Soundwave's shoulder. Anyone mind explaining how exactly this is done? I've read that a few parts can kinda clip together, but I can't really figure out what I'm supposed to be wedging into what. A few closeup pics would really help.

I just fold out the flap that covers his head in alt mode a little way and perch Laserbeak up there. He's not attached to anything, but he's not going to fall off either.

After a lengthy couple of days trying to decide between Soundwave and Soundblaster, I decided on the former, my obsession with always having the on-screen versions of characters reigning supreme. Although, Soundblaster does look really cool...I'm sure I'll regret the decision at some point haha.

Anyway, he's pretty solid. The only issues I have with mine are that his head is very difficult to turn, and the Laserbeak disc doesn't fit very well inside of him. It's a struggle to get him in and out, which makes the transformation gimmick not work all that well. Otherwise, he's pretty neat I guess. Will make a good 'Con display partner for Grimlock if I get him.

I just saw the SW fig in the store again, wish they would've made the chest better--sticks out way too far.

Maybe I'll try that. Still trying to figure out how people are getting him to perch on SW's shoulder, though...

I waited a few days since having him as I didn't want my opinion to be overshadowed by 'ZOMG noo toy!' but that honeymoon period is now over.

And I still love this figure. It pretty much keeps everyone happy. Kids will love it as the data disc gimmick is geniunely fun to mess with, and unlike shitty Mechtech, doesn't compromise the toy. (Even as a kid I used to hate pointless gimmicks.) It's solid in both modes, so kids wouldnt need to worry about dropping it, and I imagine it'd stand up reasonbly well to average play.

Us bigger kids are happy because we have an updated, great looking Soundwave (That Headsculpt is superb) that doesn't look out of place being posed with larger classics at an affordable price, and he even has all his major minions.

    Highly recommended.

He's good, but he's just too damn big to fit with the other FOC figures.

What I done is got a twisty tie thing from a figure's box and put it on laser beak, hidden under him and the other bit in soudwaves hand, its pretty well hidden and works well, he will NOT fall :)

Got Soundblaster, Ravage, and Rumble yesterday. Pretty cool even though the launching gimmick only works with Buzzsaw. Rumble refuse to transform and Ravage just flips his back legs out.

Finally found Fall of Cybertron Soundwave. Man, is he a lot better than his deluxe counterpart. Similar transformations, but clearly warming up to FoC Soundwave.

I held off from getting this Soundwave for a long time because something about it just didn't look right, and I really hate the way Ravage looks. I don't buy many current Transformers either. I am really picky about anything bigger than Legends size.

I ended up getting Fall Of Cybertron Soundwave and Optimus Prime today with a really good discount ($13). I like Soundwave a lot more than I thought I would. It's not free from QC issues (stress marks), but not too bad.

I really love Lazerbeak. Is there still no way to get a Buzzsaw without buying Soundblaster?

Is it common for the disk minions to not fit in his chest? I had to force Lazerbeak in there so much, I just gave up.

Picked the Soundwave up at a semi-local TrU yesterday. Grabbed the Ratbat/Frenzy pack at the same time and stopped by another TrU on the way to work and grabbed the Ravage/Rumble pack.

For my first TF purchase in about 2 years I'd have to say he was well worth every penny. Ironically enough, the last TF I purchased was the deluxe WFC Soundwave.

If I have the WFC is it worth getting the FOC Soundwave/Soundblaster mold?
