Got a Soundwave for each of my kids and letting them open them tomorrow night, since, due to my son's inability to keep a secret, they both know about them. Can't wait to see him in person!

Found Soundwave. Love Soundwave. What year is it again? Because this toy feels like a proper Voyager, and that's before you remember he includes a sidekick figure.

It really feels like this is what was meant to be released in 2010, but someone said "Wait! What if he shot BAKUGANS out of his chest!?" And someone else was all "BAKUGANS!? Kids LOVE the Bakugan!! You just earned a promotion! And your first job is to make this design into a deluxe while I learn what the hell a Bakugan is."

The Bakugan factor is probably the weakest thing here for me, but it's absolutely brilliant as a selling point in terms of a gimmicky thing to collect and way to justify a bunch of sidekicks making their way to stores. I might be doing something wrong, but damn is the fit tight when trying to jam these other toys in him. I'm not sure how intentional it is for the disks to fly across the room, but that's the stunning result of the psychotic force required to push them out. Admittedly, a small childish part of me does get a pang of glee seeing a bird pop out because I DID NOT PUT A BIRD IN THERE. Whoa.

Laserbeak is not a great toy, just like all of the data disks, but he's a fun extra and he works for what he's supposed to be. Can't complain much about finally getting a Soundwave with all of his A-List chest babies at retail, especially since the ideal collector versions of these guys are coming soon as MPs. It'd be nice if Laserbeak could clip on somewhere, unless I'm missing something.

I think Soundwave may have benefitted from having this design done once before. I like the deluxe quite a bit and this one addresses nearly all of the things I would have wanted improved. Deluxe Soundwave was a bit small, had a nice head sculpt that was kind of soft and really huge feet that stood on large chunks of the vehicle roof. I really liked the style of both modes, but they could have used a touch of the chunk and boxiness that I associate with Soundwave. Voyager improves all of that for me.

The ratchets in the elbows and knees are very satisfying. Those along with the size and proportions and perhaps even the hollow chest and sci-fi alt mode take my mind back to holding a Headmaster in 1987. Or something like that, anyway. I like it. I'll gladly buy this mold 2 more times.

Finally, I am truly perplexed by the rifle that turned out to not be included here. Why an Optimus Prime weapon, and why the actual G1 mold specifically? Is it in the game?

I know some people are disappointed that it was dropped, but please don't be. Your Soundwave isn't incomplete. For one, that thing was about the dumbest and most useless Transformer gun ever. I mean, it had a sculpted handle...then a separate peg for the robot's hand that caused the superficial handle to collide with Prime's arm so he'd have to hold it at a goofy angle.

I grabbed my Optimus rifle, and Soundwave doesn't do much better with it unless you put his wrist at an angle and rotate his arm in the direction that makes his elbow useless for shooting poses. And that's only with his right hand since the raised trigger finger in the sculpt of his left hand makes it so he either cannot or can barely hold 5mm pegs unless they are longer than average.

Instructions also show the Prime rifle can attach on top of his vehicle mode. It really can't since that little red seat thing blocks the back end of it so that you'd have to jam the rifle peg into the hole at a damaging angle. It's freaking weird, this gun.

That's all Deluxe really has over Voyager is the inclusion of the traditional Soundwave rifle. I've got Voyager using a spare old G1 rifle with missile, but the trigger finger on the left hand means he can only hold it in his right.

I could have totally seen myself buying this guy and all the "cassettes" if they came out last year, but with the Masterpiece versions coming I just don't think I'll be able to pull the trigger on them. I was thinking of getting Soundblaster, but then I'm sure an MP version of him will show up with Ratbat so maybe not even him.

These two are awesome. Large, solid toys that remind me of cybertron era voyagers. The minions are nice but, not amazing. As collector the minions are "meh". However, my 5 year old thinks they are the cat's ass. He played with them all afternoon. Good job Hasbro on these voyagers.

Damn, I want Soundwave. Don't know where I'll display him, since he's too big for the WfC/FoC bots and I already have Cybertron Soundwave filling the position on my CHUG shelf.

I think I may skip the minion packs, though.

Anyone figure out how to get the minions to fit into the chest easier, yet?

Mine is hard as hell to get in, and I'm afraid I'm going to break them or him..

I said screw it. I took a radiused file to the inside to wear down the nubs. Now it works perfect, instead of taking so much force, they fly across the room, they pleasantly plop out a few inches from him and spring open.

I gotta say, I was a naysayer with this one. Seeing pics online, I still had my deluxe, I seen no reason to own this one. After I seen it in hand at the store, HOLY CRAP it looks awesome.

I will say the same, this seems like a voyager from the classics line. Very large, pretty high quality. Plastic feels top notch. Obviously the missing gun is bullshit, but the disc gimmick is VERY good. They really did a great job with this one.

I am enjoying my Soundwave :D  the only thing to watch for is stress discoloration on the minion deploy piston. Make sure you are pushing on the end of the piston and not the back panel portion or you can get some nasty white streaks on the grey plastic.

I understand and agree with the frustration of this guy's disappearing sidearm since a figure this good needs a hand held weapon. Still, I'll admit being a little confused as to why he would have been packaged with G1 Optimus' hand cannon. If anything else, I'd probably have given that to my Henkei Optimus and my Soundwave would still be short a gun.

I think what I am going to do to get laserbeak to stay on soundwaves arm, since He will be displayed in robot mode, is take a SMALL piece of velcro and put a piece on his forearm and then the other piece on the bottom of laserbeak. Can't think of another way.

Had this in the fan modes thread but think it belongs here as well. Just another reason to love this guy. Throwback to a few years ago before quality declined.[IMG]

    ^^ love it!

Snapped a few with the phone. This one IS fun.

Easy Piledrivers for Rumble. I dont have any problems whats so ever with Fremble holding cyberverse weapons and standing. Arms are tight.

after sitting here at my desk at work all night.. I have found that if you put Laserbeak into his chest, right side up, as in with the Decepticon symbol is right side up, it goes in a lot easier than any other way... it doesn't look right until it's all the way in but, it goes in a lot easier.

Pictures would be really helpful to see what spot you are referring to... Please?
