Something wrong happened at the factory and you can bet your ass TT are already flipping their shit to find out why it happened and make sure it stops. I bet Red Alert is will be fine.

This thing is a pretty impressive recreation of the car I had posters of on my walls growing up.

I wonder about Sunstreaker's feasibility. I think I read someone's report from a con that Takara's designers are well aware he'd have to be a different mold, so that's a plus, but would Lamborghini actually let them make it? Back in the Alternity days, Takara designers mentioned that licensing sometimes caused design headaches because car manufacturers could be really picky that their products were super-accurately portrayed (down to denying the designers a millimeter or two clearance for transformation because it'd go off-model) or that there were no break lines in the hoods or signature design elements of the cars. Given that Sunstreaker's original alt mode was a fictional "souped-up" Countach, Lambo might have pause about OKing a bastardized version of their design. And on the flip side, it could look too much like a real Countach for Takara to proceed without a license. Just pure speculation though; it'd be really cool to see one come through. I'm sure Takara would be eager to put out a modern recreation of one of the first Diaclones they every made.

Nothing is guaranteed, that's for sure. It's a definite possibility we may never actually get a Sunstreaker. Though I could see them designing him, just changing the details to mimic an actual Countach. Maybe have the "jet pack" be a separate add on for robot mode. Who knows. I'd rather see them change a few things to satisfy Lambo than not make him at all.

Takara was allowed to have the weapons attach in vehicle mode for Lambor, so having the engine parts be detachable might be a possibility. Though Lambo might view engine parts differently than obviously unrealistic weapons.

Just throwing my 2 cents in regarding the paint; the problems I've seen so far are very reminiscent of my Hasbro reissue SS. I sold it years ago so I can't provide photos, but that figure had the same problems with his paint.

    Crazy

    MP-12 is not a masterpiece

Just unboxed my MP-12 with excitment and delight.. then i transformed him... his shoulder mounts do not lock in, there is no way to do it, so when you move his arms the shoulders sometime slide out. also the paint in certian parts doesnt match.

what really bothers me is my alternity figures are in the same scale, and the paint is better and includes rubber tires!!!

They're doing Red Alert with a fire chief deco and a freaking light bar. I see zero reason why lambo would say no to just putting the supercharger on top for Sunstreaker.

    Very, very good point.

And clearly Lambo signed off on quite a few design liberties with Sideswipe. Those awful gaping doors that apparently never line up properly in car mode, for example. Can't see any reason why they wouldn't okay Sunstreaker's alt mode design as long as the Lambo logo and core aesthetic is retained.

TF Source is currently selling this guy for $90 + tax and shipping... Any idea how much it'll cost once it's officially released here in the states?

Wait, really? I want pictures of this. What emergency agency can afford to buy a Lamborghini for their emergency vehicle?

Hopefully that turns out to be true. I'd definitely pick him up for $50-$60!

They use confiscated cars from drug dealers, most often. LA PD has used them. Though most often at shows and stuff.

That's not at all how it works. TT showed them their design before they even started on the mold, before the factory even ran them. They arent going to spends tens of thousands of dollars (or yen) to make a mold before it's approved.

They don't outfit a whole fleet of Lamborghinis, for one.

As GogDog said, they'll get them through "discount" means, and they're usually just touring cars for PR and such, but occasionally you might find something like Red Alert's Fire Chief model, as a first-response vehicle, where the aim is to be able to get to the scene as fast as possible, not to be equipped with all the bells and whistles of an actual patrol vehicle.

IIRC, somewhere around RiD's release (when people were questioning the realism of Prowl's alt-mode), there was a news article floating around about a Diablo police car in Italy.
