As nice as the figure looks I think it'll look much better with some more paint.

 

Aside from shoulder joints that really needed to be beefed up and stiffened, a pretty nifty guy. Magnus must have been designed in art previously, like Ironhide. Seems unlikely they'd bother with the faux wheels behind the head otherwise.

 

I painted his horns silver. He looks so much better.

This guy is awesome. Like everyone else talked about, his shoulders are a little floppy but a quick bit of super glue fixed that. I might do another round as they are still a little loose but now he can hold his hammer.

The only disappointing aspect is how the weapon sits in vehicle mode. Clearly, it was intended to go all the way down onto the grey bits you flip up but they are too close together so it can only just barely sit and is really loose.

 

Wish he came with 2 missiles.

 

Here's a few. I threw on some extra reprolabels too.

 

I picked him up from HTS and when I opened him and tried to pose him with his weapon, I was very disappointed. His weapon is too damn heavy and his shoulders are not strong enough. I tried adding some clear polish to the ball joints but I still cant get them strong enough. Right now, I have his weapon attached to his back and I might pick up a single Arms Micron as a replcement weapon that he might can hold.

 

Oh gosh that looks awesome!! Will definitely be doing that when I find him!

 

Can I echo an earlier request where someone was asking for pics with UM alongside CHUG Hot Rod or Kup? This guy looks similar enough to IDW Magnus that he might be a decent stand-in.

 

I don't have Hot Rod, but here he is with Kup.

This is a great figure, and much better after adding some silver paint apps. I painted the hubcaps, wheel wells, smokestacks and the side mirrors and it makes a world of difference in alt mode. Not sure if I'll add any details in bot mode, although he certainly needs some.

The biggest problem with Magnus is that he only comes with one missile. Paging Dr. Wu…

Seriously, I like this guy a lot. More than I should when I stop to think that his alt mode looks like a blue lego piece. Any ideas on breaking it up are welcome.

 

quick n' dirty phone pic is the best I can do at the moment. I have to re-do the rear fenders because I accidentally touched them before they dried. :/

 

I would like this guy a whole lot more if he had a nose. Then make the hands, biceps, and thighs molded in white plastic. That being said, it does look like a pretty cool update to UM.

Curious about two things:

1) Mine has crazy loose arm joints. Anyone else have this problem?

2) He feels...fragile. Dense, but fragile. Like all his plastic is weirdly hollow and brittle compared to, say, Megatron and Dreadwing, who feel much softer. Anyone else feel like this?

Like him, and maybe his arm joints are loose 'cause he was left in a cold garage for a few days, I don't know. If that's the case, I'll just get another one.
