Tf Prime Deluxe Rumble

After picking this guy up today, he is a definite hit over his wavemate Kup. The transformation is fun and leaves him looking like a bruiser, which is a rarity for carformers.
Anyone else get him yet?

Vehicle mode is a nice blue, sleek but reminds me of a compact sorta like movie skids. Bot mode is rather beefy. The legs are weird but ok. The piledrivers are nicebut in desperate need of some paint apps. He doesnt quite fit the classics shelf but I think he might look a bit out of place amongst the main con cast. Almost feels like he was made by a different design team but thankfully not the same ones that gave us airachnid and even kupp

I just got him recently too. Loads of pics done and uploaded for your enjoyment right here:

Decepticon Rumble - Transformers Prime Decepticons - TFW2005.COM

Rumble is a cool little Decepticon. He transforms into a compact car which I feel is just slightly inspired by the Honda Civic, which you can see when you compare him side by side with the Alternators Rumble in vehicle mode:

Transformers Prime Rumble with Alternators Rumble Vehicle Mode

Vehicle mode is solid, everything pegs in securely and there's no obvious gaps beyond the seams for transformation. It's a cute little car mode, I like the tinted red windows and the Decepticon symbols on the front and back bumpers. Only thing is though the car mode really is tiny. There's two sockets to mount the weapons in vehicle mode, and I like the fact that the peg holes have been made to look like the caps on a gastank. Pretty nice!

The transformation is straightforward - the car's hood forms the legs, and there's a pretty cool step in there with the front grill. The arms form out of the rear portion of the car and the roof, with the car doors folding up onto the back. A nice touch is a molded detail on the inside of the car doors which resembles the guns on the back of the original Rumble and his various homages.

Robot mode is a solid little toy. He's decently poseable, though the shoulders are a bit limited because of the car doors on the back of the robot mode. Because of this you are a bit limited in what you can do with the arms, but you can still get a lot of really nice poses out of Rumble. Special mention should go to Rumble's head, which has full side to side and also up-down movement.

Rumble's build as mentioned has a lot of bulk in the arms giving him the feel of a brawler, which is hammered home by his weapons. Rumble's weapons can pass as guns but they also double up as piledrivers, and have some cool molded detailing on them like springs. They attach over the hands of the robot, creating the feel of the "arms transform into weapons" from the Prime TV show, which is ironic considering the original Rumble did much the same in the Generation 1 cartoon.

A word of warning though as regards the paint - I found on mine a little of the black paint on the inside of the fists had rubbed off from putting the guns on. It is not a huge issue for me, but for those demanding perfect paint on their toys you are going to want to bear this in mind. I'm also not sure if this is limited to mine or going to be a common flaw, but the paint on the rear spoiler also rubbed off a little on the edge. Again not something that bothers me but it is something that can be checked for in the store if your preference is for absolutely perfect paint.

Here's a couple of robot mode pictures:

A cool feature in the robot mode is that you can also store Rumble's guns in the sockets next to his hips, or on the backs of his shoulders. You can also peg other weapons under the barrels of Rumble's own guns.

All in all, Rumble is a fantastic little Transformer. He's a good release in the Transformers Prime line if you can get over the small size of the car mode - he feels a bit bigger in robot mode with those big arms. He's a lot of fun to play about with, I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a cool little car Transformer.

As one last bit of fun, the "chest face" look on this one seems to borrow from the popular Gainax anime Gurren Lagann, so here's Rumble next to one of the chest-faced mecha of that series

Hey Sol have you noticed the legs don't like to come together well and always has to stand with them spread? I found that turn the waist around d and the knees around so the wheels face inside lets the legs come together better

Yeah, the bumper halves are good at keeping the legs from doing a "standing at attention" pose, but given the upper body bulk I wasn't too worried. I'll try the leg thing sometime - how do you clear the solid plastic at the front though?

Not well, the first time the waist popped out altogether...luckily a ball joint. but when going back to normal, I did manage to get it twisted without coming apart.
