That's cool. I realized the problem was the legs having to be at an angle once the stress mark issue originally came up, but I couldn't see whether this way was actually different. I'm glad to hear that there doesn't seem to be any danger to the toy.

Not sure how best to explain it, but the end result is that the parts will need to be forced to a degree in order to connect together like in shortpacked's pictures and that's most likely how that user ended up with stress marks.

SDCC Blast Off's plastic is sturdy stuff and does not suffer in any way from B/GPS type ailments. I've had my Blast Off in a similar arm configuration as Amuro for weeks now with no problems.
I am a little confused. So are you NOT forcing the two legs together in order to have them connect together similar Shortpacked's pic? Or are you indeed forcing it a little and the plastic is sturdy enough to not cause any damage to the figure?

You have to force it a little, but not as much as the other alternate transformation in question. It holds together okay, but I'm not sure I'd want to leave it that way long-term.

Beautiful pictures TCracker. I'm gonna try that configuration out. The retail colors actually don't bother me in Bruticus mode now that there are more pictures out. I still prefer the SDCC colors for the individual bots, but I think I would've gotten used to them. Sorta regret paying extra for the SDCC version now ><.

If you want them arranged like in Shortpacked's picture, you will need to force it. I did not even bother attempting it because while I felt it could be done, I could also feel that it was not a position the plastic wanted to be bent into. Thus, why I think the Shortpacked Bruticus got stress marks. If my follow up paragraph confused you, I was just pointing out that the plastic is regular, sturdy stuff, not "crumble in your hand" GPS stuff, heh. I've had mine arranged like in Amuro's picture for weeks, I only tested the Shortpacked arrangement to answer ExVeeBrawn's question.

Ok, so you've got yours arranged like Amuro's, and you had no problems connecting Blast-Off's legs together in that arrangement? I ask because I have been attempting to get my Blast-Off to look like Amuro's for a couple of days now. Every time I attempt it, it seems that the two Blast-Off legs do not want to come together to form the Bruticus forearm and hand. Perhaps if I forced it they might come together, so that is what I thought everyone was talking about.

The annoying thing is that everyone who has posted pics of Amuro's Blast-Off setup makes no mention of any difficulties and the pics always look great. So it's either people are forcing the two legs to connect or I am missing a HUGE part of this puzzle. lol

EDIT: Ok well, I definitely have the configuration right. I guess the only thing I didn't realize about this configuration is that the forearm never actually connects. All of the images I've seen make it look perfect, I just couldn't see forearm connection.

Oh! I don't know about how other people are doing it, but yeah the forearm doesn't actually connect for me either. The fist halves however do connect and I cheat a little bit to do this by sliding one of Blast-Off's legs slightly off its peg so that the 'forearm' pieces come closer together. From other people's pictures, that seems to be what they are doing as well (perhaps unintentionally) but that's just my guess, heh.

It's all a lot clearer now. Thanks for the input.

Received my Bruticus from TFSource today so I thought I'd add my opinions.

Swindle and Vortex are tied for the best figures in the set. I rank them Swindle, Vortex, Brawl, Onslaught and Blast Off. Onsalught and Blast Off could actually trade off their rankings, as O's alt mode is weak and BO's shoulders flat out suck, again, imo.

I like the combination, very much PCC, but I have to wonder how much wear these connector joints are going to be able to handle before stress and damage strikes?

Oh, back to Blast Off for a sec, alt mode is great, but even as the limbs go, he's easily the weakest of the 4. Would much rather repaint a Swindle, Vortex or Brawl than use BO as a limb.

Overall, very cool new figures and very much looking forward to G2 and the Wreckers versions!
