TF Prime RID Voyager Dreadwing Review

Okay, just got this after receiving news from the local TRU guy that this figure came in yesterday.

This will be the shortest review ever for this figure and I will go ahead and point out the pros and cons.

Pros:
Feels DAMN sturdy. I have this figure and PRID Bulkhead. And he win hands down. The quality of the plastic seems to be heavier and chunkier. Very in line with the heft and chunkiness of FE Bulkhead.

All the sharp edges, with the exception of the wings and sword are all molded in soft rubber. This includes his knee guards and even his crest and eyebrow.

No noticable QC issues as everything snaps into place. The arm transformation is kinda finicky but once you have everything lined up, it all locks into place. No floppiness here.

The bot mode is quite poseable. I will be snapping some photos later in the night and update the thread.

The colors are just right and there are no smudges or blemishes in the paint job.

Now for the Cons:

Dat Kibble - the crotch piece splits and locks below the fuselage. Quite an eyesore and it detract from the overall sleekness of the jet mode.

Dat hands - ROTF Voyager Starscream all over again. Something could have been engineered to fold away the arms. But to its credit, he does have wrist swivel.

Dat Bendy rubber - The sharp edges, while made of rubber, gets bent easily on the rudder.

Dat stupid Mechtech/powerizer thingy - What is there to say? Imma gonna mod it so it looks like a gun. Too bad as this is one of the blemishes that affects the overall look and feel of the figure. I don't even bother to take a picture of it. So there.

Overall, what I think?
It gets a solid 8/10 from me. The bot mode is fantastic and quite screen accurate. However it suffers when it comes to the jet mode. It is a bot kibble galore. Unless you can see past those, this figure is an absolute must have if you like the character and want to complete the Prime cast.
Will I still get Skyquake? Of course.

More Dreadwing Pics, this time with a proper camera.

Nice. He looks sturdy.

Can you compare him to the other RiD voyagers?

Nice review. I'm surprised he looks so thin though. In the show, he looks so much more bulkier. Definitely a great looking figure though.

My only complaint is that on the show, his body looks much wider. This one looks too slim in robot mode.

Still cool though, and I like that they didn't hold back on paint at all.

as for the jet mode robot kibble, that's actually show accurate for the jet model. You can see it in the episode with Skyquake. His arms and legs are visible on the bottom of the jet. Not as prominant as on the toy, but they're there.

I think its the size of his head. It seems just a bit big compared to his body. Like just a little bit too big. It doesnt look terrible it just means his body looks thinner.

He looks amazing. Screw the jet mode.

His body isn't as wide, but it looks more attractive than bulky. Something like Knock Out's proportions in the show.

Man, mine has stress marks on the parts of the small wings that connect them to the legs... Major bummer. Otherwise neat transformation. The worst kibble is the split hips. Otherwise they're what you's expect from a jet former.
