Man I really can't wait untill this is released over here. I was hoping it would be in the next week but I'm guessing not untill the end of the month.

That sucks. It sure would be nice to take this with me on vacation.

Personally, I find this mold to be much more dynamic than the old MP Convoy. Yes he's smaller and has less heft to him, but has better design and much more cartoon accuracy than the old one. MP01/MP04 might be more faithful to the spirit of the toy design in terms of having all that die cast in him, but this is a pretty good figure, especially if you can get him for $99!

Uh you do realize you can order it off TRU's website? Or if they run out, maybe ask help from fellow board members? No need to fund eBay scalpers, that'd just encourage them :p

On vacation? Isn't that risky? You could lose parts, break it in transit etc.

Yeah, he's definitely not one for the road. I would go insane if I lost one of his fingers.

I can't wait for this to appear in the U.S....if it does appear at the closest Toys R Us, which is unlikely.

Ehhh not really. It's not really a vacation...I'm just going to my beach house for a week. I always take at least one figure with me. Last time I took my Hot Toys Captain America and got some really great pictures, like he was storming the beaches of Normandy.

I take very good care of my collectibles, and I'm confident and careful enough to take them with me sometimes. I've never lost or broken anything (knock on wood).

Thanks for the review. Still very happy with the Takara version (like the colors better), but should I be able to get one for a reasonable price (i.e. if european online stores get him as well), then I might bite.

One small nitpick, you forgot a step in the transformation (probably something the youtube reviewer also forgot, since many have). On the backside of his lower arms near the elbows there are (ridged) panels that have to fold out during transformation. These end up behind the wheelwells. The chromed gastanks peg into these.

Wow, this guy looks amazing! And great review BTW :)

How much is it going for? I wish there was a version without the trailer, as it looks pretty useless.

I can't wait to get this. It will be my first MP Transformer, and will probably convince me to just get MPs from now on.

It will be 99 USD. I don't believe TRU has ever hiked up the price on their MP from announced prices.

Rodimus started out at 60, later went to 70. Same with Grimlock.

Can anyone comment on the durability of this Hasbro release, both in general and in comparison to the Takara MP-10?

I'm really digging the way this figure looks, but since my Hasbro MP Starscream and MP Rodimus both broke almost immediately after being taken out of the box, I'm REALLY hesitant to go after Prime without assurances....

Man I wish this would release already. It'd be great to have this in hand monday night when I come back in town for my copy of FOC. I have MP-01, along with plenty of other Primes so I'm not hurting but I love the way this thing looks.

I love how it looks in ALT mode w/the trailer. One of the only transformers I display in ALT mode, and this will be the centerpiece on the coffee table in my man cave for a bit, untill Iron Monger, Avengers Cap, Sideswipe, and Thundercracker get here anyways.

Well I don't know how you define durability, but this certainly isn't a toy you can give to a six year old to play. There are certain parts that probably won't withstand a huge amount of force (i.e a drop from a great height), but if you're simply talking about transforming him and giving him different poses every once in a while, I think you're good to go. I've had him for about 2 weeks already, no problems so far.

Exactly what I said almost a month ago.

Also, Thundercracker is now pushed back til November. From what I hear it's because of paint app issues from the big boys overseas.

There are better images of Prime here already, but here is another one. I was really impressed with the paint apps on him. From the early pics from Botcon it looked like the face and pelvis were left unpainted. Not the case. Both are brilliantly painted silver. The durability is great. it feels very sturdy. The index fingers fall off quite easily and the feet can be a little loose. Not falling off loose but if they were tightened just a little bit they would hold dynamic poses with ease. Right now it's a balancing act to get it just right. But the quality is bare none.

My ankles were ok, but I did notice the fingers you mentioned. It normally happens when I'm tightening the grip on the gun. Just curious though, did yours come with instructions? Where were they hidden?

I just realized I hijacked your review thread. I thought I was posting in the other one in News an Rumors. Sorry about that.

My instructions were underneath the the cardboard holding up the trailer. Did you look under there?

No biggie, it's good to see other people's opinions in a review thread :)

Yep none there, I even tried looking inside the cardboard you mentioned since it's sort of a box, nada.

That sucks... Did you empty out the whole thing? I could scan mine if it would help.
