Chest panel is the same on mine and from what I can tell in pics it's a widespread problem. It bugged me more at first than it does now tho.

Ah, I see. Well, in the robot mode doesn't really bother all that much, but it looks like ass in Alt mode.

I didn't go through all these pages but I just wanted to ask.

Really? It doesn't come with instructions at all?

    Wouldn't that be a first?

Also nice pics and good review. Your pics came out really nice and look rich and nice. Recently I've been seeing pics that have the colors off and was making me worried he looked more orangy... Nice to see that isn't the case. :)

Instructions are on the bottom underneath the label paper.

check your side cab windows and see if they are flush with the lining of the window wells. the right side on mine was not seated in properly and i had to pop the whole thing out to totally solve all of my alignment and gap issues. excluding all the other weird issues i already had (as mentioned further back in the thread) setting the windows right made a huge difference.
im not saying its the cause to everyone's having this issue but its an easy thing to spot if you have it.

Ok thought so. It just wouldn't make sense. So did the OP just not realise it or did it get secluded?

Thanks for that. I noticed the right window frame does poke out more. I took out the screws and fiddle with it, now it sits better, more flush with the left window.

Not really a big deal but I do notice on the grey painted areas of mine it looks like when they painted it then forgot to smooth it out on this one bit or someone use a fingernail and put a line on the paint. I know if wasn't me because I only touched him from the legs. But no paint chip or anythjng

Crap. I'll have to go and check mine. Damn.

It chips from transformation. Mine's doing the same thing. It's really annoying. So, now if they don't cut costs on the plastic quality, will it be the paint? Grr.

So, what precisely did you have to do to fix the problem? I popped out the ring window completely, and now that it's out of the way, the right chest panel has no problem fitting perfectly where it needs to go, but just looking at it, I'm not exactly sure what part of the window was the problem, or how to fix it.

Can you give a step-by-step on exactly what to do?

Also, does anyone know how to make the legs connect together better when in alt mode? They click in place, then pop slightly back out. The only way I can get them to permanently connect together is by attaching the trailer, since it kind of forces them to stay together, but that's not a real solution.

Probably a design problem. My Takara MP-10 does that too and from what I have read that complaint might be more or less universal.

I couldn't find it at first, because I was only looking under the cardboard box propping up the toy. Some other people also had the same problem as me :p  I didn't think to pull off the cardboard forming the frame next to the plastic, which is where it was located. I actually posted a while back that I found the instructions, but yeah, should probably edit the original review :)

edit: updated the review :)  I'll probably update some of the pics soon, since a bunch of it was mistransformed :p

I am still patiently awaiting for mine to ship from TRU.com, but I gotta say I'm a little surprised to see all of these QC issues showing up... A lot of people are saying "that was an issue with MP10", etc. but I honestly don't remember a single complaint when that was released. I obsessively read the MP10 review thread back to back but I still don't remember hearing anything other than "this toy is perfection." I'm also seeing pics of a few Hasbro Primes with bent "horns"..

So... does anyone feel like their Hasbro Prime is a near perfect toy, or does almost everyone have some kind of issue with theirs?
From what I've read about these screws (still haven't seen a close-up pic) it must affect every copy, but without having one in hand I don't exactly know what everyone's talking about.

Anyone have a suggestion for a Megatron to set up against this Prime? I was thinking the Animated Leader might be a good size, but the different style might bug me. Cybertron Galvatron crossed my mind...until I checked ebay prices. LOL!

So to close the gap on his chest do you have to press on the chrome abs and the backpack ( where you can store his gun) at the same time? I been pressing on his abs to get less of a gap, but didnt know his backpack could be pushed in more!!! I'm at work so i cant try it now, but just wanted confirm that this works...

Apparently MP Galvatron is in the pipeline - I'm gonna wait for that :)  It's not Megatron, but if it's anything like MP-10 it should be gorgeous.

try moving the legs a click up or down at the point where they attach to the crotch while you have them in truck mode. they are made to fit precisely in one spot or nothing will tab. there is zero tolerance for being off in any way. you might find your gas tanks will not tab in once you find the legs "sweet spot". this issue has been there since the original release...it is a pinning issue, you either have a good pin set or you dont =/

also, to answer you question about my window. i popped it out completely and noticed the cab wanted to close properly after with it out. my first thought was the window must be warped so i heated the window itself in very hot water to "reset" any warping that may have happened while in package. then when i reset it made %100 sure both tabs hidden in the window lining where actually tabbing in. bingo bango my cab now wanted to close perfectly with no effort to get it to stay.

pushing on the fake grill just pushes the fake gills tab into the slot for it on the matrix chamber as well as forces the entire matrix chamber as far back into the body as it can possibly go. this gives a little more room for the chest windows to tab together properly.

the gun compartment doesn't go anywhere its just easier to hold there while pushing the grill back.

i will post a picture when i get back home as to what screws are casing the problem and the problem they are causing (scratched chrome) it may be a day or so until i can though (anyone else feel free to post pics yourself if you know and have the issue) i am away from home with no prime or camera atm

no issue on its own is really a deal breaker, they are all just minor annoyances. i suppose this is why people really do not care in the end. nothing "breaks" the toy they just hinder things functioning as well as they could have.
