Thanks for the warning! I'm glad I just removed those screws instead of drilling them through the plastic. I guess shorter screws would have helped immensely for the bumper-scratching issue.

Why are you guys trying to tighten the screw? It sticks out?

yes, instead of having a totally flat head it is slightly raised and rubs the chrome off the bumper as a result.

yup, the very bottom edge on the vehicle bumper.

there are two tiny screws in the window tabs that lock the doors to the fake grill in robot mode. these screws are only here to help hold the window in place (somewhat) and strengthen the tabs. they should be inset to avoid any clearance issues and the screw hole is made to accommodate this, but the screw itself is not a completely flat headed screw. the tip/sides of the edges on the screw inside will rub and eventually rub off chrome with it.

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll be removing them as soon as I get mine.

I'm going to do one of four things

A: shorten the screws myself, and put them in deeper
B: file the heads down, then put them back in
C: remove the screws and glue whatever part they held in place
D: find screws the same size, but with flatter heads

all depends on the parts and the screws when I get it in hand.

it doesn't hold the window in place. the larger screw in the upper corner does this along with some hidden tabs on the inner lining near the smaller side window. these screws from what i can tell are just there to strengthen the tabs and hold them to the body. without them if you just decide to pull the chest open you would potentially pry back the edge of the window with them and potentially weaken the tab itself.

if you are careful and lift up the tabs to tab them in and out, you really do not need them in at all. the window is in so tight that the screws do little for holding the corner in place where they are located.

So is everyone's screws doing same thing or only some? YouTube reviewers don't mention it

hard to say since i only know a few people with prime atm. out of those 4 people 3 of them have all asked me if i had chrome coming off the bumper...
i myself never even noticed it until someone asked me about mine. since it happens right on the edge of the bumper piece and can easily just be seen as reflection or shadow if you do not look closely.

personally if you close the door and you feel friction when closing the gap off i would say be safe and not sorry and take them out or tape them off somehow.

Well.... just to let everyone know. It seems that the chrome on the top left and right corners of the bumper are being rubbed off by the plastic of the windows. It seems that the way it is closed in the chest (a tight fit it seems) is causing some chrome wear.

As for the two spots caused by the screws..... Oddly enough I remember seeing them on both Primes at TRU. I just thought that those spots were part of the plastic trees in molding and were not cut off properly.

Also I have some good news to report. Remember the elbow flap issue I was having... well I got a sticky note and rubbed the sticky part up and down the joint and after a few times it is holding up pretty well. So I just wanted to pass this along...

As for the chrome, this is just bad QC.... does the original release of MP-10 have this issue. If not I may have to track down another prime, just to have in box....

I don't see screws where it touches chrome? Also does the gun clip onto the hand in robot mode or does it just sit there?

Gun clips into the palm of his hand, although mine does it at a weird angle - I just leave mine loose with the hand closed around it to compensate.

There are two legs in the front of the trailer that you can swing down.

Well, the screw problem struck mine as well. Sure enough, those little divots in the chrome that I thought were molded in are little scratches from the screws. Damn. Why would they use those screws for this? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

    Grr.

Got mine today, pretty good. Only problem that really pisses me off is that the right chest panel doesn't snap in flush in either mode. Great figure though.
