FOC Deluxe Optimus Prime

Let's get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

Firstly, to point out one of my observations - In my FOC Jazz review, he was hampered by him legs and feet, making him very difficult to pose and play. FOC Shockwave on the other hand was nicely done in terms of plastic durability and sculpt. Prime on the other hand beats Shockwave in terms of articulation.

Few things that I like:-
1) The headsculpt is nice. Even tho there is no light piping present, the detail of the headsculpt is marginally better than the WFC version of Optimus prime. They even painted the eyes.
2) There is a thigh/bicep/wrist/waist swivel which helped greatly in the articulation department. The feet are on a ball joint and so are the shoulders and head.
3) the plastic colors, while looks muted, does the job nicely.
4) Transformation is satisfying and he Tfs into a serviceable Cybertronian truck

5) Overall articulation is quite good.

Here are the not so nice observations:-
1) His gun - While it does the job nicely, it is not as 'hefty' as the WFC version.
2) He seems to have a serious case of extreme pelvic thrust. The distance between the waist and the head is kinda funny (as you can see in the pic, which I removed the arm to illustrate the point)

Overall, he is a decent figure. But there is a size decrease in his bulk compared to WFC Prime. But if you are not picky about scale, size and whatsnot, he should make a fine addition to those who collect the FOC or Optimus Prime in general.

And one more thing...

Ger-truck!

Addendum - Seems I missed out another step. the Smokestacks folds down in bot mode and folds up in Truck mode.
Here are the corrected pics. It doesn't really affect transformation, whether it is up or down is a matter of preference.

I can't get over that dumb design. Fatimus Prime is more like it. And dat pelvic thrust.

Toy seems okay but looks way inferior compared to WFC Prime.

I don't like the huge red gap between the windows. It's just pointless and makes him look fatter than he really is.

he has a simplicity and chunkiness i find appealing. looks to be a good toy just to fiddle with while watching tv or something.

wish the head looked as nice as wfc prime's. wfc prime has what is easily one of my fav optimus head sculpts.

I can see some potential here with some good reprolabels love!

Middle window, some glow strips, some circuitry detailing perhaps.

Yeah, That's Right.

So Optimus is just... looking down. Reminds me of Ironhide.
