I wait, and wait, and sometimes (like with the movie lines, or the recent reveal of a voyager TFPrime Ultra Magnus) I get a more satisfying and in-scale version of the character I want. Also, I've never been one to get stuff I don't like the look of just to complete a collection. The only recent exception to my rule was when I finally caved and got the deluxe Roadbuster to complete my 3 deluxe wreckers. And MAN he sucked, and I was again affirmed of my position to not get shitty-seeming figures.

Yeah that figure is...rather awkward XD Looks ok from the front minus the arms but...the Cyberverse figure...I had less issues with that one in many ways XD Yeah I'm surprised as well. I really dig the WFC Optimus a lot and I can't say this figure is better. I can't even say it's better than the Deluxe "bendy" Armada Optimus. XD I agree though, that WFC Optimus was on the apex of what they did for intricacy and detail in the transformation and engineering at that scale. I can see that. For me the scale issue is just...you can't even put it in an actual evolution from the previous toys. If it was this simple but bigger I think people would have less issues. If you keep it on its own or in the Robotmasters aesthetic it's not bad. Too bad it still can't scale with the other figures in its own toyline though XD And no problem. ^_^ Nice to have some friendly dialog with a fellow TF collector. | |

This is the incarnation of Optimus AFTER WFC so naturally collectors expect it to be just as big as the WFC figure, if not bigger. However it is not only a drawback in size but detail. In addition FOCtimus Prime seems cheaper. There are hollow parts compared to WFC Prime and it comes off seeming like it should be from a smaller pricepoint. All things TOKUsatsu! It's possible that the design team not only had more time to work on the WFC figure but a bigger budget as well. Who knows? It's natural to expect FOCtimus to be the better figure of the 2 but I think most of us in this thread don't think it is the better figure, hence the disappointment. The points of articulation are almost equal however while WFC Optimus has double knee joints, they are hindered by the gas tanks on the legs. Meanwhile FOCtimus Prime has single knee joints but a greater range of motion, BUT the knee joint is placed somewhere necessary for transformation so it may look awkward when posed. Drawbacks and detractions aside, I think it's still a fine figure, just don't buy it expecting it to surpass WFC Prime. If you thought WFC Prime needed a voyager figure, you'll only be thinking that moreso for FOCtimus Prime. WFC Prime looks like a gladiator version of Prime, a version built tough and rugged, ready for war. FOCtimus looks like a pre-Earth G1 Prime. I would give it a 7/10, the poseability/flexibility pretty much saves it. Thundercats HO! GI JOE! Ark Of Toys! The poseability is excellent and the head sculpt is right on. He has a simplistic, but effective transformation. But like everyone has said, the effing size of it kills the thing. Now with the whole WFC vs. FOC Optimus debacle, I have to say that the WFC overall is a better figure, but the FOC is just more fun to me. If the FOC was overall bigger, I would like it a lot more than the WFC Version. And to transform the WFC version, you have to make it a task, while the FOC is just fun to do. I'm really hoping for a Voyager version to come out. |

It's fun, but I don't like what's going on with the knees and I feel that there were better options than to sculpt some fake wheels on his back and leave the real ones on the arms. I also don't like the dangling bumpers; if I was a kid those things would have been off his arms and lost in the couch a half hour after I opened the package. they don't sit well in robot mode, and don't stay together in laying-down-robot-mode. My roommate pretty much summed it up when she picked Prime up off the coffee table: "It's alright, I guess. But it definitely feels like a $7 toy." Even with inflation, production times, yadda yadda... It just doesn't feel like a substantial toy. $15 gets me bigger, more complex Transformers at retail right now. This does not feel like it's 3/4 of the way to being a Voyager PRiD figure, and in the end the figure's biggest drawback is not that it's a bad toy, but that it's not a good value. There's just no reason in the world to sell a largish, very basic Scout-Class toy at this price. If you've got WFC Prime, then as an adult collector you really don't need this guy. It's definitely something for a five-year-old to clutch in his hand and use as a shovel in the sandbox. I'd get it if you have a coupon or a discount, and wait on it if you don't. |

But the lack of paint apps is a disappointment. I will be completely repainting him!!! And since when did Hasbro stop using pins in the wheels. They clip in.....how odd. |

They weren't well executed on Knockout or Vehicon so they didn't roll well, but all later implementations, which i have experienced, roll really well. This way we can avoid the problem, where sometimes wheels are pinned on at an odd angle or too tightly. I do toy and product reviews, check out my channel.See my figure designs. |
