Review:

His bot mode is B plus at most, mainly due to dinky size.

His alt mode is okay but i give it a C: mostly locks up nicely but i dont really like the look of it. Just pointing out in the OP that the thrusters can be properly angled to the 'bridge' - the elbow has a double joint thats easy to miss.

Overall a B. Nice design, decent paint apps. That said this design does give me a jonesing for the dotm version which i passed on, that one seems more imposing, even if i dont dig the movie look.

SAME. That alternate mode is KILLER. I love that now

The scrawny lower body (well everything below the chest really) is what kills this design for me.

Some stuff i noticed:

- the ship 'bridge' has sunken vestigial robot head on top. Must be a call back to the game character model.
- the gun has sculpted cable hose like the game model but u cant see cuz the whole things molded in black. Might be a fun thing to work for u who like to add custom paint on your figures.
- u can flip the arms around as gun handles in alt mode. But it looks lame lol.
- if u pick this off the shelf, take note of the head sculpt. Most specimen will have 'smudgy' sculpting along the front of the head for some reason. Not a deal breaker but just a note to u anal retentive dudes out there.

since I didnt have this mold I assumed the wings were just sculpted pieces, not something you could hide, now he looks even better

I was waiting for somebody to try that! I'm glad to know you can safely remove that piece without damaging the figure - I thought the giant muzzle looked a bit silly, honestly. That triple-barrelled arm cannon config is a vast improvement!

The more I see of this figure, the more it's beguiling me with it's wily ways. Shockwave, you little minx. In my personal fanon, I see this figure as a representation of G1 Shockwave a few million years down the road, during which time he's upgraded his body numerous times, etc. He's sleeker, more agile, more heavily armed, and with a slightly more useful alt-mode! Love it.

Definitely need to get this, especially now that I've seen that gun mod. Can't believe I didn't think of that earlier.

Wait, Hasbro please don't reduce the size deluxe, maybe increase the size of scout. I realize now, that right before the death of MSIA figures, they started making these teeny tiny Gundams.

Well once Hasbro reduced the size of Transformers and simplified them until releasing Transformers that wouldn't transform at all. And then...?

Hope history does not repeat again.

Got mine in today. Amazing little toy compared to Jazz. Besides the skinny legs I see no problem.

Also, gorgeous light piping.
