If they're already going to the park and have paid their admission and hotel fees, asking more than a few dollars extra is too much. If it were a special trip to the park just to pick up these exclusives, then I can see asking for more to cover the cost of admission.
Just my opinion here, but asking triple the price is crazy. Paying it is worse.

Like you said, it all comes down to opinion. I get what you're saying, but if you really like what you see of this figure, you'll pay what you think is fair.

Based on that, I thought Evac looked better than many of the recent movie themed deluxes and is a solid figure in his own right. I considered around $45 worth paying since getting one, if I wanted one, would cost me at least $60. I'd have had to pay for the figure itself, admission to the park, gas and airline fare to get there regardless of if I wanted to go to the park for other reasons or not. As I think about it, Aveo Swerve at secondary market prices is potentially an even worse bargain, since all you would have to do (if you lived in Canada) to get it in person is show up at a Chevy dealership at the right time.

Eventually, whether you pay that much will rest largely on how much you like the figure. I ended up paying secondary market prices for both Swerve and Evac, which I very rarely do. I was fine with it both times.

Am I the only one who is tired of the Hasbro non- painted (dull) grey plastic? It is a very nice mold though.

^ Nope. That plastic looks so crappy no matter what it is on.

The backpack kills it though. I'll be heading to Universal sometime in July, so I'm conflicted on picking one or two up as a souvenir.

Agreed! I haven't read most of the posts, just checked out the pics, and these are the first ones that show the "cape" transformed as shown in the instructions. When I get around to painting mine, I'll probably dry-brush the boosters on the wings to make them stand out more.

I picked up this guy while at Universal Studios last week. Was about $25, but the TF Prime toys they were selling, which weren't exclusives, were even more. IMO this toy keeps the trend going of awesome movie figures that didn't make it to mass release, joining Que and the two Soundwaves. If you can't get to the park, I'd say he's worth about as much as it cost to get Que and deluxe Soundwave off eBay...

    Oh hello old thread :)

Anyway, I'm in mid-vaca down in Orlando right now, and I was at Universal yesterday.

I picked up two of these guys, one to play with, and one to keep in the box.

    I dig him!

You can open the doors on the back to give him more of a "wings" look if the big backpack/cape bothers you.

I got this guy a few months ago, he's not the best figure in history but that doesn't stop me from loving him, although at the time that I bought him he was super rare on Ebay. I can't remember what I paid for him but I remember not regretting it once I had him in hand.

He used to be rare? So he's now easily available on the secondary market?

    Yep, exactly that much.

    I think he's around 35-45 online.

There for a couple months they were hard to find on Ebay at least.
I remember watching about five or six on Ebay and them all being bought in a day leaving none up, so I bought one about a month after that because it was the first one I could find.

I think it was more of a dry spell then actually being rare, but I don't think Universal's supplies are infinite.

EDIT: I went and checked, I bought him for $30+shipping.

I had avoided wanting this figure due to the scalper prices some were trying to sell it for, but I just got one today for an awesome price from a fellow boardie.
Gotta say, I'm glad I did. This is a really fun figure! The transformation is interesting, the alt mode is solid and flashy, and the bot mode is full of character.
    Overall, I'm quite pleased.

Lucky! I've wanted that one for a long time. Very cool figure. Even the legends was sweet.

He is still readily available in the TF Ride gift shop in all parks, but I believe they may have updated his packaging (same figure). If I recall, he's $25.

Yeah... quite the mark up there... even mass release figures are significantly more expensive than retail there.
