This is a pictorial review of the TF Prime First Edition Hasbro Version Deluxe Vehicon. The figure is generally the same as the Takara First Edition Vehicon with some subtle differences, hence this will not be a full pictorial review but the differences between will be highlighted here with pictures.

You guys probably have seen enough pictures of both the FE vehicons & RID vehicons, hence I won't post too many other pictures on this Hasbro version guy, will just post one group picture of both the RID and FE versions:

For comparison purposes, the left side will always be the Takara version and the right side the Hasbro version.

The Hasbro version has a darker tone of purple throughout the whole figure. Not sure if the picture can capture it well but there is a slight differences in the purple tone, Takara version being lighter and Hasbro version darker:

Also at the rear of the alt mode, the takara has some light pink / purple paint apps highlights which is missing on the the Hasbro version:

The hand gun / weapon follows their respective purple tone but it may not be able to capture clearly from this picture:

The Takara version has dark purple paint app running through the abodmen of the figure whereas the Hasbro version has the same lighter purple paint throughout the abodmen:

The Hasbro version has the knee in light purple whereas the Takara version just follows the same purple tone present through its whole figure:

The Hasbro version features red light piping whereas the Takara version has clear light piping:

This first edition Vehicon, be it the Takara or Hasbro version, is a great figure. Some people already prefer the RID version over the FE. I like them both the same. If I have to describe it, RID version is fun and simple to transform with nice figure outlook, first edition Vehicon is like a masterpiece kind of transformation compared to the RID version.

Wow, I'd totally forgotten about this, but I guess now we know that there ARE differences to this one after all, and that its not a straight up repack.

Yeah, he should take a picture in such a way that he can make it look like there's 9 of em in each row or something & then post it around the boards, just to get people fuming out the ears.

The Takara colors are generally better for me. (never thought I'd say that in the sticker age) Red piping is nice though. But this figure is just a massive whatever to me with the mainline one existing.

I love the RID version. But this look kinda cool in it's own way. If if was regular price, I might pick one up.

I think this mold is the only Takara first edition to be definitively better than the Hasbro first edition. I like the extra paint apps on the abs and the vehicle rear.

The FE's car mode is a little better than RID, but if the RID had clear rear windows and a painted grill the difference would be negligible.

Give me the PRID version anyday as the bot mode looks sleeker and yes, I passed up on the FE one when they were released.

Eargh. That backpack just kills it for me. The hit in the alt mode for RID is acceptable for me when the RID pretty much nails the bot mode. I dunno. I might try to get an FE one just for the sake of novelty, but I'm not going to make it a goal of mine. If I have spare cash floating around and I find one at a price just right I'll pick it up.

It's a fantastic mold. It definitely blows you away when it's actually in hand.

The differences here are pretty minor. If you're debating on one or the other I don't think you can go wrong either way

Prefer the Takara FE Vehicons compare to the Hasbro version

All fiction aside, FE Vehicons strike me more as faceless, imposing legions of foes, while RiD Vehicons have more personality like they're an actual character.

Honestly, I like them both, but I only have RiD (which is easily my favorite Prime figure so far).

Got my FE Vehicons. 1 from a friend and 2 from retail. Damn stoked.
Here is how I am going to set them up. Since I have 6 RID Vehicons and 3 FEs, I will use the FE's as squad commander for every 2 RID Vehicons.

Since in the show they 'usually' come in 3s, this is just perfect. :D  :D  :D
