I might pick this figure up should I see it at TRU.

I'm really glad that this guy got rereleased because it's actually a really good toy, but I didn't feel like paying above retail for it when I already had the RiD version, which is just as good and, in some ways, better. However, at retail, buying him was an easy decision.

Also, something I noticed that I don't think I see people doing too often. In robot mode, the hinges that the headlights are on can be pulled out a bit, which allows them to be folded up on his legs. It fills out the backs of his legs a bit, and gives his legs a cleaner and cooler appearance.

Yeah, you're supposed to do that. The bumper then winds up creating that spike/fin that sticks out the side of the leg on the show model.

Just to confirm, this (and FE Terror Cliffjumper) is only going to be sold at US TRUs, right?

Might be looking to trade for these... maybe for a regular FE Cliff? :)

I've got the Japanese version but even the slight differences is enough to make me want a Hasbro version. These are army-builders, after all.

Yeah they are only online (BBTS/TFsource) and Toys R Us exclusives.

Finally got one after a few weeks of struggling especially when this one guy locally scalps them all...

At first I thought mine was defective because I had his arms on backwards, but then found out I could just rotate the inside of the waist....

He's like ROTF complex, but not too frustrating. I like how the hood kibble makes a cape.

Since I got this one, I seriously cannot put it down. That does not happen a lot for me with TFs. Usually I set them on a shelf and mess with them later or possibly never again. This FE Vehicon is one of the coolest transformer toys I have bought I awhile.

I have multiples of both now, I think I can sum up the differences.
-The prid version is a better kids toy. It transforms SO easy, that its almost boring now. The FE is complex...I say a bit more complex than ROTF level. I love it.
-prid elbows ARE wonky and wierd. You can still get poses, but this is a.new, different type cheap joint, and from some views, looks downright bad.
    -car mode has exhaust pipes..
-wheels are clipped. Roll your FE and Prid on the same surface. Prid doesent roll. Fe rolls like its on bearings.
-Prid gun is.way too big, once again. But gives you more options. Mechtec ports on sides of car, in hand, or food hand and clamped to arm, can even put it on his shoulder via the mechtek ports. Fe gun OS smaller, and molded to fit perfectly when the hand is flipped back. This is one where the "transforming hand" looks right and spot on. Fe can also put it on the hood, or under his flipped out hand.
-car mode in general is completely dominated by the FE.
-leg transformation of the Prid has been praised so much, but the FE (imho) does something almost more impressive, folding all that out, and giving that big of a leg and foot area, without looking all hollow..impressive.
-bot aesthetic Prid is clean, only has car bits on his hips. Very "humanoid" looking. Lots of articulation, but standing next to am FE Vehicon, he looks like he has been starving in a death camp. The FE is truly the menacing brawler that I have wanted. Think powerful arms hands and legs..the car kibble is completely excusable for me as it almost resembles a cape or something. The car kibble gets forgotten fast when u have this one.

What I'm.saying, is just because you finally found a Prid Vehicon, don't stop looking for the superior FE Vehicon. Some will say the Prid is better. Some will say FE. I put it this way, if you want a kiddy toy that's easy to TF, then the Prid is the best for ya. If you want a "grown ups" Vehicon, one that looks more like it does in bot mode in the show, and the Tfmation doesn't get boring..Fe is for you. I'm glad I was able to.score both at retail. I've wanted an Fe Vehicon for awhile. It was worth the wait.

    I guess, I feel different.

Now that I have a FE version, I like the PRID one better. This one seems clumsy to transform after the elegance that is the PRID one. It isn't a bad toy at all. I just like the sleekness of the Prid one better.

If you can get one for retail or slightly above, it is so worth it. I am going for 2 of each mold myself.

No way. Complexity is not the same as quality.
PRID gets everything done right and looks a LOT better in robot mode. Its really no competition. FE Vehicon is hindered by obnoxious kibble and dorky proportions. I honestly cannot see how someone could possibly say FE is superior in anything either then car mode and even then the only notable difference is size and colour. I actually am confused; how can you say FE is more show-accurate in bot mode?
Here is Vehicon is the show.
    Here is Vehicon FE.
    Here is Vehicon PRID.
If you argue that FE with its stocky back and proportions is anywhere near as accurate as PRID with its great proportions and literally no kibble, I'd have to question your sight. Its not opinion, its fact: PRID is the more accurate figure. You may like FE better, but that's different to wrongly saying it is the more accurate toy, because it truly isn't; what you like better is an opinion and a fine thing to say, but saying something is more accurate when it isn't is just being wrong.

Sure, PRID is not complex, but the fact it does everything so much better then FE in a simpler way seems more commendable then FE which does a far worse bot mode in a more complex way. Calling PRID a "kiddy" toy because it is less complex but gets the job done better while calling FE a "grown up" toy because it does the job worse but is more complex is stupid. They're all kids toys and PRID does the job better; being less complex is not a bad thing when the results are one of the most screen accurate toys of all the FE and PRID lines.

I can't say I really like one better than the other. I really enjoy them both for different reasons. Bare in mind that I personally have no connection to the character itself, having not watched PRIME. I just think they're both fantastic toys, in different ways. Also, I've yet to see any really good photos os the FE. Everyone just has him standing there "at attention" and dull... I've gotten some nice looking poses out of him that really makes him shine! Now I just need to take some photos! But yeah, I like them both equally, in different ways, for different reasons. My Vehicon display (1 FE flanked by 2 PRiD's) pleases me greatly!

Well said, FE car mode looks nice though. Might pick one up, but every time I see the bot mode I just can't pull the trigger.

Just got the FE reissue Vehicon, along with the PRID version. They are both very nice in their own way and have fun transformations. I can appreciate the aesthetics of both robot modes.

In the FE vehicle mode, I cannot for the life of me get all 4 wheels touching the ground at the same time, something is mis-molded on the rear wheels struts that are supposed to clip into side of the chest piece. The PRID version has all 4 wheels touching, but of course they are clip-on wheels and don't roll very well.

well, you've got your opinion, I've got mine. Prid Vehicon to me, is a chinsy kiddy toy in comparison to what I believe, is a way better figure. I really don't think I went into show accuracy. I dont give a shit about that. If they are sitting next to each other on the pegs, I will ALWAYS.grab the FE, and this is again no exception. FE superior!

There's a simple solution to the PRID vs. FE debate:
The FE is a Commander Vehicon and the PRID are regular troops.

There, now you can buy both. :)

I agree 100%. That's exactly how I see them. The FE is so much more of a bruiser looking guy. Then you have the prid with articulation like an action figure and for troop builder guys I think it works well.

Me 3. Like so many things, it doesn't always have to boil down to something so black and white, in this instance, "one's great, one sucks". Why be so short sighted? Undoubtedly some people honestly do not like the FE. But I'm willing to wager there's even more who aren't aware that it's COMPLETELY OK to like them both... or at the very least find a comfortable medium.

i really like both figures on their own merits.

PRID is simple and transforms as fast as a G1 figure, when i need something a bit more involved the FE works nicely, I like the way both bots look despite the kibble on FE, i especially like the way the car parts vanish on PRID version.

Im very happy with the fact that despite all the parts and complextiy of FE everything on it is solid and clips into place, i hate it when a TF has loose joints or wasn't engineered/made correctly so things dont tab into place properly, or at all!

Overall though i prefer the prid version but its not like I cant have both.....!
