TF Prime Cyberverse Optimus Maximus

Here's a pictorial review of the TF Prime Cyberverse Optimus Maximus.

In Battle Roller mode, the huge gun can be pegged onto the centre of the chest piece to form something like a canon. Pictures of its front, side and rear view in Battle Roller mode:

The transformation is no brainer simple, just untab and straighten up the legs and reveal the head / face. Pictures of its front, side and rear view in robot mode:

When you straighten the legs to unveil robot mode or bend the legs to become the battle roller, the electronics will produce some noises. Also there are 2 buttons on each the shoulders, when pressed will produce some "firing" noises and LEDs light up.

The box says it is able to contain 9 cyberverse figures. Here are some close up pictures of the bays/platforms to house the cyberverse figures:

One thing to note is that the 3 missles on its right shoulder are not on spring mechanisms, they can be fired but have to be done in a "manual" manner.

And here's a picture of the cyberverse figures on Battle Roller mode:

And a picture of cyberverse Bumblebee housed in the right shin of the robot firing "canon":

And a close up picture of Optimus Prime in the command post / chest of this huge robot:

And a couple more pictures of the cyberverse figures with Optimus Maximus in robot mode:

Conclusion:

This piece of toy lacks articulation and overly simple for its price point, hence I cannot recommend it. It has got a nice head scuplt though. We don't know if Optimus Maximus will actually appear in the TF Prime show at all but the reason I am buying this piece is mainly cos the completist in me says buy it, and I guess it can serve as a form of nice robot housing for the cyberverse figures, it says on the box that it can contain up to 9 cyberverse figures and if I am to squeeze hard enough, probably 11 cyberverse figures. The other thought on my mind is also that if I can use this Optimus Maximus to house 11 or so cyberverse in its robot mode, it can save me some cabinet space and it is not a bad piece of thing to display, with all the other cyberverse figures all around at different portions of the entire robot.

Thanks for the review Ping. =)

I still think the toy sucks but that's no fault of yours. Thumbs up.

Too bad about the lack of articulation. I was really excited for it, too. I'll still get it, but it'll probably stay in base mode all the time.

I forsee that head will be used on so many customs...

It's cool that Hasbro is trying new things, but man is that thing an abomination.

If he could at least split up into smaller vehicles that the cyberverse figures could use it would be way better.

I can't believe I actually wanted this at one point. Great review anyways.
