Got him yesterday, and is it just me or do the sculpted lines on his face make it look like he has a pencil mustache?

I have three FEs: Arcee, Bulkhead and Bumblebee.

I got Arcee before RiD showed up. I later picked up RiD Arcee.
I got Bulkhead shortly after the first pictures of the Powerizer showed up.
I had RiD 'Bee before I got my FE.

You know what I've found? I actually really like both versions of Arcee and Bee, for totally different reasons. The RiD ones are quick and fun to transform. The FE ones are complicated, interesting and show-accurate. Sooo... I'm probably going to get this one, too, just to check it out, at the very least.

Hidden anti-war propaganda. They're making us hate weapons.

I can't wait for it to get on shelves in my area. I think i like it better than the FE as i don't care that much about show accuarcy (i'd prefer the show to be accurate to the toys but, whatever)

I've recently gotten my voyager Bulkhead and I figured I would just post my two cents. :2c:

No but seriously, my original comment still stands. I prefer this Bulkhead to the FE Bulkhead. The FE Bulkhead had some awesome features, but I think overall the RiD Bulkhead succeeds in show accuracy more so then the FE. For me the head mold is better. I love the moving mouth plate. Secondly the legs and feet are a lot nicer than the FE. The slighter longer legs give Bluky better proportions and the transformation is quite slick. Third I like the back pack. This is my personal preference which goes all the way back to G1 for me. When I first saw More than Meets the Eyes and Sideswipes' jetpack I always assumed as a kid every transformer with a back pack had jump jet ability, so I still pretend that to this day. Fourth, I really like the shoulder pads. Fifth in my opinion the RiD is slightly better at posing than the FE.

Of course this is my opinion, but I just thought I'd share it.

You can like the toy, but I'm not quite sure if the people saying "PRiD is more accurate" are watching the same show as I am.

I do wonder what show other people are watching myself...

    - First Edition -

To me, the only detail the FE has over the RID mold is the forearms - everything else is kinda even.
The FE has the wrong shaped chest: it hangs out FAR too greatly from the body & has a hole in his belly, plus the doors are too low.
The FE has the wrong shaped face: the chin is too small & so are the eyes.
The FE has uneven legs, & the feet are missing both the inside & outer toes.
The FE has the wrong shaped shoulder armor & it's the wrong color - which is impossible to fix w/o changing the alt mode.

RID does not move the hood to cover the windshield.
RID headlights do not move to their proper place in bot mode.
RID has hollow forearms, due to the Powerizer gimmick.

Neither pic shows either mold getting the back wheels or the shin wheels correct.
The back wheels are impossible, both because their housing doesn't exist on the vehicle & they become 1/3 the width of the calf wheels.

The FE has the closer transformation to the show, but the bot mode suffers for it.
The RID has almost the same transformation, but is missing some steps from the FE for the lights & hood to form the chest.

I'm still more okay with spending 20 bucks for the RID version - way more than I'd be okay with spending 100 on the FE.

I'm glad someone else finally managed to point out the inaccuracies common to both moulds, and in a far more concise manner than I possible could have, lol.

Really, the thing is that Bulkhead's design, as seen in the show, is pretty much impossible to get right in toy form. Both figures had to make severe concessions in order to achieve at least a rough approximation of the design. Honestly, though, "rough approximation" is about the best a lot of figures can hope to manage with some of the more complicated robot designs we get these days, and I'm happy with it.

I can say so confidently since I managed to grab PRID Bulkhead this morning, and was pretty satisfied with him. The headlight thing and the unpainted side windows are about the only bits that bother me, and the latter can be fixed. Hell, even his weapon doesn't bother me too much, as I've found that one can pretty easily jam it in the opened position without the rubber band just by pressing the button hard enough, and pushing slightly on the wrecking ball itself will shut off the light. All things considered, things could have been A LOT worse; I'm happy to have a reasonably good Bulkhead at a non-ludicrous price.

I love how absurd the mass shifting is on that CGI render. Somehow, I don't think there are any suv's on the market with tires taller than a 16 year old kid. :)
He's three times larger than the car he comes from.
Arcee is probably even more exagerated.

Will just pretend Ratchet made rid Bulkhead do some excercises and welded him some new armor bits on.

EVERYTHING mass shifts in Prime. I've stopped caring about it a long time ago. Arcee is HORRIBLE in the mass shifting department. :lol

She should only be maybe two or three feet taller than Jack at the most! Maybe less even!

Everything in Transformers mass-shifts. It's been that way forever. I mean, Animated Prowl, anyone? To say nothing of G1 Astrotrain and Broadside.

Of course. For me it's all about how much mass shifting has on the sliding scale. About the only thing I liked about the Bay movies is that for the most part, the mass shifting wasn't so apparent. It wasn't like you had Optimus turn into something that is clearly and totally way too big for his alt mode. I appreciated that in Bayformers.

Huh, that comparison does show the RID isn't as innaccurate as I thought as well as some of the flaws of the FE. I totally forgot Bulkhead has full black shoulders. It does look like the FE gets the chest transformation right, at least, the only exception being the door frames around the headlights, but that's more because the doors can't partially dissapear as they do on the CGI model.

And to be honest, I kinda dig the "headlight waist" look on the RID. It helps add a bit more color to the front, really. My only gripe is that the weapons are completely wrong for the sake of the stupid Powerizer gimmick while the FE has both the correct melee and gun weapon configurations with the reversed wrist hole. I think I can live with the FE, though, since color wise he looks better and, amusingly, has a faction symbol.

True - I'll likely pick up the RID mold, as I think I can fix some of my problems with it...
