It does look like the FE gets the chest transformation right, at least, the only exception being the door frames around the headlights, but that's more because the doors can't partially dissapear as they do on the CGI model.

And to be honest, I kinda dig the "headlight waist" look on the RID. It helps add a bit more color to the front, really. My only gripe is that the weapons are completely wrong for the sake of the stupid Powerizer gimmick while the FE has both the correct melee and gun weapon configurations with the reversed wrist hole. I think I can live with the FE, though, since color wise he looks better and, amusingly, has a faction symbol.
I can appreciate that logic. Really, the one reason I didn't go for FE Bulkhead is the prohibitive cost, though at the same time, it's also helped me appreciate what RID Bulkhead brings to the table a bit more. Like you said, it's got the accurate shoulders and the additional colour in the torso, plus I greatly prefer the RID mould's head sculpt.

The weapons don't bother me as much as they do most folks, though. As I said, you can easily jam the wrecking ball in the opened position and keep it that way, and while it is inaccurate, I still think the battering ram looks cool in its own right and fits thematically with the character, much like RID Optimus' sword. The only thing that bothered me at first about the wrecking ball/cannon is that it weighed down his arms, which I remedied by removing the batteries and battery cover. Now he can hold it aloft pretty well. The placement of the weapons on his arms is inaccurate to the show, but nothing's perfect.

Those green doors, though...ugh, I gotta try and think of something to do with them.

It should be possible to attach the rear doors to the front ones by way of a hinge - I'll check that if/when I pick this guy up.

That, or a sliding rotator joint - to make them turn sideways to cover his headlights...

He isn't as good as the FE but, he is fun to mess with. I feel he is 2 hinges away from being as excellent as the FE. H needed hinges to fold down the "spikes" on his back. That would have made him so much better.

I like the figure. It's probably towards the bottom of the Prime line in my eyes, but certainly not bad or deserving of hate. The main thing I dislike about it is how tiny the alt mode is. I'm really not minding most of the clear plastic the Voyagers have; the smoke-colored type on Bulkhead is nice. Still borderline pointless as far as functioning along with the light-up weapons, though.

No but seriously, my original comment still stands. I prefer this Bulkhead to the FE Bulkhead. The FE Bulkhead had some awesome features, but I think overall the RiD Bulkhead succeeds in show accuracy more so then the FE. For me the head mold is better. I love the moving mouth plate. Secondly the legs and feet are a lot nicer than the FE. The slighter longer legs give Bluky better proportions and the transformation is quite slick. Third I like the back pack. This is my personal preference which goes all the way back to G1 for me. When I first saw More than Meets the Eyes and Sideswipes' jetpack I always assumed as a kid every transformer with a back pack had jump jet ability, so I still pretend that to this day. Fourth, I really like the shoulder pads. Fifth in my opinion the RiD is slightly better at posing than the FE.

Of course this is my opinion, but I just thought I'd share it.
Do you also own the FE?

Got him today and I like him. Not as much as my FE but he's not bad. Kind of enjoy his Mehtech more than the others because the wrecking ball doesn't just fold out or catch the LED light, it actually spins too and I find it kind of fun (but still totally ridiculous looking). Plus the "ram" can pass for a decent arm cannon. Overall I find the legs to be a bit better and he balances better standing. One cool detail that hasn't been covered by anybody is that the doors on his chest are on multiple hinges and can be moved down and to the sides to give him a rounder more FE like look which minimizes the elongated torso and gives him a bit fatter of a look.

One big MEEEEHHhhhh

Man I was really looking fwd to this one.

Gotta say this is one of the weakest offerings ive had from the line.

Fiddly POS he is...Wing/wheels keep popping off. Shoulder pads pop off if you move the arms, because there is nothing locking the arm from swinging front to back. Front bumper in bot mode is loose and floppy.

Im not even going to elaborate on how rediculous the weapons are. JUNK.

CGI model correct or not...that dont really bother me that much. This one is just boring.

For the guys that are sweating it to finally get this one in hand...relax...Ive been pleasantly suprised with alot of the TFP stuff, but I would put this one at the bottom of the line somewhere. Its just bland...boring...and not that fun.

So bland...it dont even look that great on the shelf..Some will and do love it. Not this guy.....BORING.

Seriously, can someone tell me what Hasbro was thinking with these Powerizer weapons? The light-up doesn't even work that well.
