The head, missiles, and Jet mode are better then the FE.
Everything else, however? Excuse me while I go cuddle with the deluxe...

the fact the legs seem to just fold under the plane again is a bummer, chunky feet, shoulders seem a little too big. no red crest, again really?

 

Great review, I think I prefer the FE but I'll still pick this one up as I love the character and it still looks like a good toy in its own right.

 

FE will stay on the shelf, but I like this design enough to buy this guy for fun.

 

Way too tall in Robot Mode, great jet, great sculpt.

If you dont have FE, I'd say its good enough. If you do, I dont think double dipping would work here.

That face is brilliant. That insincere smile is wonderful.

I doubt I'll get him as I lack extra cash these days and already have the FE, but he's pretty nice. I like how he's given different, even if inaccurate, stylings in jet mode to help conceal the chest better.

 

Does his chest face have pupils?

 

They're fairly apparent in the pictures.

Thought you didn't see them. I can clearly make them out, as easily as the ones on the FE version.

 

I'll be getting him for kitbash purposes, but the FE Deluxe makes a better Starscream, IMO. There's a bit of awkward bulk and kibble on this one.

He looks great, though, putting those issues aside.

 

I'm liking this one, though it does make me hope a 'Weaponizer' Megatron is forthcoming.

This guy isn't bad or anything, but his weapon is just a waste, and he really wouldn't look as good with my existing figures as the Deluxe.

One more thing to track down...I actually can't believe I'm turning down a Voyager Starscream for a Deluxe, but there we go.

 

Voyager Starscream is not too big, Megatron is just (way) too small. So is Soundwave.

Hasbro, please fix this.

 

Yes he is. He's about the same size as the regular Autobots in the show. He should not be standing on-par with Optimus Prime.

 

I'm so getting this figure, been waiting since they showed the protos. He looks amazing!!!

 

If you are worried about scale, maybe Transformers aren't the toys for you.


I love the looks of it. I am, however, a Starscream Sucker. Can't wait for this to get in my POL.

I really think the FE nails the look better. Im already WAY over the transluscent forearms, so thats cruddy to me. Kibble on the ankles looks bad. Torso looks nicer, but not much more.

The gun seals it...Pass for me
