Are you another one of those who says a toy sucks if the color scheme is bad?

A horrible color scheme can make a figure look worse to me, but I also think the mold is lacking too. It's bad on top of bad for me.

Watch Misterfanwank's review. He shows an alt. transformation that looks really accurate.

The overall look of the figure is important to me, even if the transformation is accurate. I can appreciate a solid transformation, but the end result has to be something I like looking at.

ETA: If I'm honest, the cheaper, smaller figures aren't very appealing to me. There's a couple here and there I've liked, but on the whole, I'm less interested in the newer stuff because of the direction Hasbro has gone in with their product. I can see myself going back and collecting older stuff I've missed or haven't been able to get that I still want, but I'm going be pickier about my purchases of new stuff from here on..... Just don't want to get stuff I feel is "meh" just to collect, because it ends up being a waste of money for me.

Knockout exemplifies the problems I have with the quality of the current stuff.

Wasn't sure about this guy at first, but the more I look at him, the more I want one. Mr. Fanwank's transformation really helped this figures case.

I'm also curbing my collecting down, been trying to keep it down to a few select figures that I either like the character or the figure itself. I've limited myself to 2 more figures for the rest of the year (well MP Sideswipe makes a 3rd but its could more towards the end of the year so it'll slide for now).

Anyway, the 2 figures I want are Knockout and Breakdown. I've thought the mold itself had potential since we first saw clear pics of it, and I see now that if you use Misterfanwanks recommened form, the figure fits way better and as far as the mold is concerned the figures really works well. I do agree the paintwork could use improvement, however it's also what will most likely be the closest figure we'll get to a TFP Knockout and I can live with the paint job (with some tweeks).

Yup, I used Misterfanwanks transformation method and he does look better. But I do agree that the face should be white. I think I will try doing that later with some white spray. I just finished touching him up and managed to snap a clearer pic.

But seriously, if they could pull it off with alot of characters in TF Prime which looks like the CGI counterparts, Knockout is no excuse. Maybe my expectations were high. But whatever. I am just finally glad we have a Knockout figure to say at least.

Personally, I would the back glass first. The rest I can live with. Crooked paint on rims would bug me worse then unpainted rims.

They look yellow to me and they are on the rc car but it wouldn't be the first time the show's reflectivity made a color look like another.

That's an easy fix. If say, you get paint on the "tire" portion, just go right over any that went onto it with flat black. Makes the tires look like real rubber as well. :thumb
