The overall robot mode looks better properly transformed, but the deco is still atrocious. Especially on the doors. Nothing like graphite gray blending into scabby red to make a paint job "pop".

If Knock-Out were a real Transformer he would raise holy hell over this poor representation of himself. KO has style, finesse, looks, and drips with awesome. KO is the "Fonz" in TF Prime! This toy does not represent the awesome that is Knock-Out! Instead, it is dull, boring, and that's just with the paint colors. Where are the golden-yellow rims? Where's the bright maroon-red shine? Where are the details? Nay, Knock-Out is most displeased...

 

Nuh-uh. He knows that the haters just simply don't know what TRUE beauty is.

 

It's true though what posters are saying. First of all, the reds really clash. Why wasn't he molded in a much darker red? That wouldn't require any extra paint. Second of all, what's with the paintjob scratches on his doors? And third? they could have cheated on the torso and didn't, leaving him to be one of the most inaccurate molds in the whole series just thanks to the chest. The arms and legs are pretty good but he's just not that well done overall.

 

It wasn't obvious that I was joking? The colors could be much better.

 

Then we shall look forward to the Takara version,maybe with stickers on,it will look better but i think i will still get the Hasbro version

 

Got mine today, he was the most disappointing in the whole wave. Touching him up abit so he does not look too bad...

I agree with whoever asked why Hasbro didn't just mold the figure out of a darker red and add fewer light red paint apps. Seems teh better way to go IMHO.

Still, I think thei guy looks pretty cool and I'll grab him when i see him on the pegs.

 

I'm not understanding the hate for Knockout one bit. Personally my biggest gripe with him are those ports on the sides of his vehicle mode but other than that little issue I think he looks just fine.

Also painted rims would've been nice.

 

Ya, I cant really understand all the hate either, specially after seeing MisterFanwank's review where he shows an even more 'toon accurate transformation. Aside from some paint issues and the not so desirable ports on the alt mode, I think KO looks great! Once I get him in hand I'll fix up some of the paint issues by painting the wheels and then I'll be quite happy to have Knockout in my collection.

 

Red paint tends to have terrible coverage, especially on darker surfaces.

So maroon on red is the better way to go.

 

I was thinking after posting that light over dark is tougher but idk they do it on other figs.

 

The ports are not such bad idea - if they give him an OK minicon mounting point - I'm sure some of the Takara Microns will look good placed on him.

Also if someone makes some third part weapons for him it gives you an alternative place to store them - and some people like to do crazy things like put wings on their cars so it give you a place to put them if you wanted to make Knockout a flying car harness or something like that.

I wish they'd painted the back of his headlamps silver and his rear window though. it's not just the hubs that make him look less impressive as a car - it's a real pain to try to fix lights when they'd been sonically welded in place.

And yellow is one of the hardest colours to hand paint too and get to look right on his arms legs and wheels.

So I think ol' KO is going to be a bit of a project for me.

 

Not so bad, provided that you can freely access the back of them. I fixed them for Classics Bumblebee.

Just take a knife to the mushroomed bit of the plastic peg, and just cut it off until you can pop the lens free. Paint the inside of the light, and then glue the peg back in.

 

I just realized what bugs me most about this toy.

The face color.

His face isn't supposed to be silver, it's supposed to be white. I think changing that might really help the toy look more like Knock Out.

Knockout is favorite Decepticon on Prime, but this figure is awful. So much needs customizing for him to look decent.
