Awesome review and some great pics of Screamer poses as well, Shin! :thumbs2:

Until my MP11 arrives from CP, your pics will do for now! Gosh, that face and body looks so sexy on MP11! No wonder Screamer has so many female fans, ehhee.

Just posted up my own thoughts and some comparisons (not as thorough as Shin, though!) here: Collecting Toys...: MP-11 Starscream Review

Please check it out (and follow)! :)

In a nutshell, love it, but I can see why some people don't think it's worth it, if they've already got the Walmart version. The changes are mostly good, imo, but let's face it, it's not THAT different, and MP-3 is still a nice figure.

I think some are making too big a deal out of the "swirly plastic", btw. It's not really evident except at very close range.

Yeah, that's another thing I noticed today as I was comparing the two. A bit cartoony looking, in some areas, because of all the black lines.

Hmm... Funny, because I always thought the headsculpt on the original was rather feminine looking, even before this came out. The new bulkier head looks much better to me - especially since MP-11 is quite a bit slimmer, it just seems to a better balance, whereas MP-03's head is just too small in comparison, and the face always looked a bit wierd.

Totally agree with you here. In fact, I thought the struts got in the way during transformation. I find the whole feature to be overrated - who cares if they came off? They were weapons, after all. I like removable weapons.

Nah, they don't look any worse than MP-3. Besides, the fact that you can now pose Starscream without fear of him falling over more than compensates for the slightly different appearance of the feet.

Well, I don't think you can really count modifications...

Not the case. Both have the same poseability, but because of the heels, MP-11 will hold more poses on display.

Yeah, vehicle mode is definitely sacrificed in MP-11.

I think, in general, a lot of us are forgetting that MP-3 is still an awesome toy, but robot mode accuracy seems to trump alt mode for a lot of us.

MP-11 just arrived and I just finished my first transform.

Wow. Super impressed with this guy. The only MP-3 mold seeker I own is the WalMart Skywarp...and the very first thing I notices was that I could take Starscream out of the packaging and stand him on his feet without even trying, while I have to monkey with the old mold to get 'warp to stand on his own. After transforming...wow again. Everything pegs in so tightly and smoothly, and things don't just pop off left and right! The panel lining looks better in person than in photos, and the head is a MUCH better proportion. Love the paint on the eyes, really makes them look alive. Considering that my Skywarp never felt nearly this solid in alt mode...I like MP-11's alt mode better, despite the less accurate underside and exposed robot colors.

If/when they release a Skywarp repaint, Ill definitely be picking it up as well. Extremely happy with this figure.

Well I hope you enjoy it man, it does not feel anywhere near as fragile as MP3. I just transformed MP11 again into jet mode and swooshed it around. Solid toy, especially in fighter mode.

Bot mode looks great. Jet mode not so great. The Coronation set is cool. So if I did buy MP-11, he would be displayed in bot mode. I like the MP-3 Jet mode better, especially on the stand. Beats having to use the landing gear. The MP-11 holo fighter is really cool though.

This review was great and really answered allot of the questions I had.

I might get this and MP10 if they come to North America. Maybe.

I like the bot mode way better on MP11 than the first Starscream. But I also prefer the alt mode on the first Starscream.

Just might pick this guy up despite the promise to myself to no longer dabble into the Masterpiece figures.

Nice review. Helps put this in a very good context:
Those pics would have meant something 6 freaking years ago. Now it’s just insulting that they ask 13000 yen for a design that is half a decade old, with crappy plastic and with no masterpiece level paintjob.
Bandai is doing engineering wonders for that price… even HasTak pulls better designed stuff today for ¼ the cost.

And that, I think, sums up the entire debate extremely well.

Yeah, that alone really makes it a worthwhile upgrade, imo. Even if you do keep MP-3.

I hope they do Thundercracker first, but yeah, I'll take both.

Had mine for a few days.

Besides the new null rays which I find fiddly to transform and pose around, the rest isn't bad. Not entirely an improvement over the old mould [I said mould, not any colourscheme], yet something different.

Legs do sacrifice ankle articulation [cleverly implement on the old mould] but they are somewhat more stable. The rest of the figure, even at different parts, has exactly the same articulation as before.

Coronation set is not too bad, cape works best of all new parts, crown just sits there with no tabs, just gravity. The shoulder pauldrons are awful in that they do not work as well as I thought with the null rays in the way.

Looking forward to Sunstorm and whoever else they make using this...

Actually the sides of his head push in, which allows the crown to fit more securely.

Got might last night but haven't had much time to mess with it. Maybe tonight.

    Mine arrived today from BBTS.

I have the previous Takara release, and I like this one much, much better. The transformation was very similar, if not slightly easier - I particularly like the way the null rays don't come off. I know some folks aren't a fan of this, but in my case - I'm less likely to lose something!

Glad to see the hip kibble is gone.

Two of the things that really stood out to me once I got him out of the box was the new head mold and the blue paint. The new head is, to me, miles and away better than the previous version, a much better representation of the cartoon Starscream, and the blue paint has a very nice metallic hue to it.

I can safely say this is the Starscream toy I've always wanted.

I can't wait :)  Mine is preparing for shipment from HLJ, might be awhile until I get it though since I went with SAL :(

It's too bad about the stand since it was cool displaying the jet on it and putting him in flight poses but honestly I wouldn't have displayed him with it anyway now that he can stand.

Me to, mine vanished into the ether Tuesday. Won't have any other info until I see on my door step. It said 7-45 days so I'm hoping to have one of those 7 day experiences rather than the 45 day ones.
