It would probably be easier to accept your opinion if everything you posted wasn't filled with thinly veiled insults. I.E. - the one you prefer is "high end" and the one you don't like is for people who want the "cartoon" (hence childish) version. There are numerous other examples but that's just one from your most recent post in this thread.

You're not fooling anyone and it weakens your argument. Just my two cents.

If it came across as insulting then I apologise. It was not meant that way. Not in the way, for example, that....

... is insulting to people that just happen to have a different opinion to you.

I am pleased that people like the new one, but to simply state that that opinion is correct and everyone else is wrong and making excuses is just ridiculous.

And, please point out where I said that the cartoon version is childish? I said 'stepped off the cel'. Its a statement of the accuracy of the figure.

Finally, exactly how I am trying to 'fool anyone'?

Guys I just wanted to chime in. Let's cool off with the heated arguments. If you're completely satisfied with MP3, you'll probably pass on MP11. If you hated the revisions Kawamori made to Kobayashi's initial MP3 design, like the F-15C more than the F-15E Strike Eagle, et al, you'll probably love MP11, as it took what was initially intended for MP3 but made it better.

If you're a fan who mainly displays masterpieces, MP3 might be to your liking. If you like to play with your Transformers yet still like a lot of detail, and want a less worrisome experience, MP11 is for you. Quality-wise, MP11 is an improvement all around, preferences may vary due to aesthetics.

Thanks man. It's so pleasing to pick MP11 at will, pose him, and then leave him standing unassisted without falling over. So easy to stand.

It's almost as if MP3 came with a stand because the designers knew MP3 was a PITA to stand in bot mode. MP11 can stand just fine unassisted.

I'm a big advocate of MP-11, but ratzo99 is totally 100% right here. Some of you guys are getting dangerously close to "if you don't think it's worth the money then you are poor and have sour grapes." This is inexcusable.

    1. Some people who can't afford it love it (me)
    2. Some people who can afford it love it (obvious)
    3. Some people who can afford it don't love it (???)
    4. Some people who can't afford it don't love it (???)

And all of them have every right to chime in.

It's also fair to decide if you have MP-03/Wal-Mart/USA that the MP-11 is an upgrade that is not worth the money to you. There are many reasons why this is so, but it is a retooling + accessories that costs a lot more than the original.

Ratzo, I do disagree with you here. In the toon Starscream's null rays were usually his plane-mode weapons. Certainly in the iconic scenes I remember him by. It sucks to lose accessories but I also think "perfect transformation" is a laudable goal. :)

Can MP11 be attached to an MP3 stand?

I really like the headsculpt on MP-11. I always felt MP3's head was a bit small, at least when compared to the newer MPs.

I tried in fighter mode, it lacks the notch for it to clip in but it *might* still fit. Gotta see again.

The new head sculpt is menacing and I love that it's dark.

BTW, after panel lining mine and reading up more on Gundam markers:

USE THE BRUSH MARKERS FOR PANEL LINES ONLY AS THEY ARE WATER BASED AND MEANT TO BE USED ON PANEL LINES. EXCESS IS EASY TO WIPE OFF. THE REGULAR FINE LINE GUNDAM MARKER IS OIL BASED AND NOT EASY TO WIPE OFF NOR FORGIVING, ALSO THE LINES WITH THAT MARKER ARE TOO THICK FOR MOST OF MP11 IT LENDS ITSELF MORE TO SUBSTANTIALLY BIGGER MODELS

I think I've arrived at a sensible decision.

I'm going to keep my MP Skywarp, sell off both the Starscream and Thundercracker and replace them with the MP-11 and iGear versions, respectively. That way, I own 3 somewhat distinct seeker molds.

That's a neat idea. I'm keeping all of mine but your idea provides for a unique display.

After playing with mine more, I'm excited for future MP releases. If they're this playable or more, we're in for a treat! So glad TakaraTomy revisited Kobayashi's original design and revised it for MP11. Emphasis on playability.

Damn, I would LOVE to see official coneheads using this mold! I have way more confidence handling and transforming this thing compared to MP3.

Skywarp was my first MP and, after further consideration, I've decided that he's the best iteration of the old seeker mold. The colors work so well for it too. Problem is, unloading SS and TC....

^thanks Shin, and noted about using Gundam brush markers for the panel lining. I think I will do that on my MP-11. :D

P.S. Id love to see your already panel-lined SS, pretty please?! ;)

Re: the heated debate thing. I'm not quite sure why the MP3 vs MP11 thing has to be reduced to whether people can't/won't shell out for it, or that they're determined to like it because it's new. Also, even tho some of peoples dislikes may seem nitpicky, that doesn't instantly make them invalid (or not the "real issue").

For example, I said I'm put off by the lack of ankle articulation. To many, this may not be a big issue. But for me, if a TF doesn't have ankle articulation so I can sit the feet flush to the floor, I won't buy it. Cost, newness etc make no difference - it's a genuine bugbear for me, which is a shame as I otherwise quite like aspects of MP11.

Actually, I also strongly dislike the tips hanging off the inside of the wings in bot mode (why can't they fold up?) and the tail fins hang too far off the legs for me (why can't they fold over in some fashion? I can think of a couple of ways it could be done).

The point is, these things have nowt to do with a pricetag or any of that rubbish; it's personal preference stuff. Clearly, some people here feel MP11 sacrifices jet mode accuracy & obviously that's their thing. Others think the MP3 bot mode was better partly because it wasn't "accurate". Others again think MP11 shits all over MP3 because it's closer to the cartoon or original toy, the colours are traditional, the hip articulation isn't compromised etc.

Why would anyone argue over those sort of opinions? Sorry to be all "why can't we just get along" but we got a decent review, and MP11 was always going to get a mixed reception in the same way MP10 did for generally similar reasons. There's hardly a right or wrong to this, so let's all behave..

    :)

Yup. MP Skywarp's the one I kept because it's all round awesome. It just suits the design best, somehow, tho I can't offer a single real reason why.
