Mine are in fine condition-- but I do own a MP-3 Walmart ver. Skywarp whose tail fin cracked. They look the same to me--so I've been cautious.

As you can see from the gorgeous pictures in this thread, the legs transform differently so there is no pressure on the tailfin.

I think my Skywarp snapped b/c I did the leg mod where you pop the panels off the hips and snap 'em back onto the legs. Then you do get that joint pressure and cracking.

So I got around to opening Starscream and I love the figure. It improves on MP 03 in every way, especially in the legs and head. That said, I do have one major nitpick; the floppiness of the torso. It untransforms itself every time I move the arms. Did anyone figure out a way to keep it from doing this?

Nope. :(  At least not that I've found in this thread.

That's the biggest flaw that could've been corrected, and wasn't addressed between the two versions of the mold.

"MP3 and some of the later repaints of it had gaps, especially where the windscreen meets the rest of the canopy, resulting in a crooked nose look. MP11 does not have that problem."

I thought that my MP-11 had this issue, but as it turns out the moving strut that the landing gear is inside has to be seated/clicked all the way downward at the back, otherwise the strut is raised slightly in this position and this prevents the whole thing from coming together correctly between the two parts of the canopy.

    Answer to posts above.

If you extend the torso all the way you should see the two rails and two screws with washers. You can tighten the screws a little and make the rails slide less easily. I found this out from having the opposite problem. One of my igear cone heads was so tight it wouldn't collapse down to robot mode.

You can make any transformer look silly if you pick it up by parts that initiate transformation. Pick it up by the waist.

Maybe Hasbro MP SS needs its own thread, but my Hasbro SS has crazy tight chest/torso. Wings too. They probably over did it. Personally I think Sunstorm from a year ago had the chest/torso thing done just about right.

I think it's case dependent. I had an Acid Storm that was too tight and one that was perfect.

Picked up the TRU version last night.
QC-wise there are issues. There's a scratch on his face, and he's missing one of his blue shin guards. Legs are scary to pull down, and his knees are also super tight. The nosecone is a bit scuffed up.
Despite all these issues, I do not regret the purchase and am glad I got him at the $60 price point. Just don't expect a "true" Masterpiece. This is TRU we're talking about.

    Here's my track record:
Rodimus: Offshoot was misassembled with two of the same arm.
Optimus: major paint chip on one eye.
Thundercracker: silver paint splotches on his head
Soundwave: two of the same pile drivers.
Starscream: see above (missing shin guard is biggest issue IMO).

So yeah, if you're a perfectionist tread lightly.

I got mine from TRU today. Asisde from being tight, he's mint and clean. Even the box(which I don't really care either way) was perfect. I'm glad it wasn't more than $60 though. THese jets really aren't masterpiece if you ask me, but are very cool. I just don't think they have an MP aesthetic like say Soundwave or Prime...just my opinion.

The paint just isn't there, for one thing. Mainly bare plastic. I wish they'd give Starscream a nice premium paintjob, make the grey a little deeper, maybe a few details picked out. Would be nice. Still picking him up because he's likely the best Starscream we'll get for a long time.

That... is some pretty horrendous luck. You have my sympathies; that kind of stuff drives me crazy. Here's hoping I beat the odds with Starscream.

So how do you want it to considered a true masterpiece then? Please elaborate.
