Hasbro stated at Toyfair there's no plans to release the Entertainment Packs at US retail. Take that for what it's worth.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to eat the words quoted above. I finally caved in to the yammering voices in the back of my head that kept me coming back to look at pictures of this set, and I ordered the pack from TF Source. Picked it up from the post office today.

Man, am I glad I bought this set.

Silas and the MECH Commando are decent, though Silas does have the bug-eyes :D  Makes me think his inner Mr. Crabs is coming out...

The Bumblebee repaint is actually very nice - the blue stripes on the front fading into black on the sides look very nice, while the plastic color seems to be close to the NYCC Taxi Bumblebee - more orange than yellow. And it's the FE mold, so you know it's pretty good.

Starscream. Best of the bunch. Always a joy to transform the FE Starscream mold back and forth, and his new "Dark Energon" colors work very well here. I liked how they colored his crest and missile tips purple, a nice touch. Other than that, the same as the original FE release - which is to say, awesome.

    Highly, highly recommend this set.

Blame the retailers, not Hasbro. Hasbro doesn't want to not make money.

But they can't do that if the stores won't order their stuff.

Which is what's going on right now.

That's what I'm noticing. In my country, these packs can be found almost everywhere. It seems that Asian retailers are willing to accept the newer TF merchandise because they sell better in this part of the world?

Possibly. I mean, somehow Amazon Unicron appeared here in retail stores, priced 120 at dollars, and it friggin' dissapeared. I didn't see it in stores for more than a week. The same has happened to various releases that were store-exclusive in the US. It might be the only thing where other countries have the advantage and the US' price protection shoots them in the foot.

Still I'd prefer their toy variety and ultra cheap toys, but whatever.

There's really an aspect of give & take regardless of where someone lives, and I think we often focus on what we don't have far too much. For example, I used to shit on my situation because things are generally a little more expensive & slower to come if they do, but I got access to a lot of the FE toys (plus I got Unicron at 40% off shortly after Christmas), so it evens out in the end.

In either case, anyone who has access to these packs should totally pick up a couple & sell over the boards. Just ask a few bucks more than you paid & you should be able to find buyers while making it worth your while. Granted, these things suck ass even at cost because of how expensive they are at retail & how they're often too large to ship economically (I learned this last week when I was a few grams over the limit), but you can always pull out the figure you want & part the other things out.

These two (2) packs have recently been sighted at a Walmart in Brampton, Ontario, Canada just a few days ago. It retails for $34.94 Canadian Dollars!

Furthermore, they were snatched up very quickly like "hot cakes"!

You have to get them while they are hot!

Yeah, I found a couple at a Walmart here in Halifax. Did up a quick review of my own on my blog: Collecting Toys... (I only have one follower, lol - anyone want to join? :)  )

I did up some comparison shots with the FE Hasbro and Takara 'Bees, as well as the Hasbro Starscream.

Obviously the main thing I wanted from this set was Silas. The MECH soldier is nice too, but his pose... I don't understand why they didn't go with him just holding his weapon like he was guarding something, or else some other more traditional "army man" type pose. As is, he's fine, but I wouldn't want to army-build him - a bunch of them would look a bit strange to say the least.

I'm surprised how much I like the actual Transformers in this set, to be quite honest, even if they are just repaints. Would have been cooler if we got something a little out of left field, like an all white or all red BB and maybe Starscream in Thundercracker colours, but whatever. I really like BB's silver face - it evokes his character so much more effectively than either of the FE versions.

Starscream in Skyfire's colours seems more left-field to me.

Thundercracker is predictable (and in the case of the Prime design, inappropriate...)

Ok so I was weekend shopping and much to my surprise saw 2 boxes of these guys on the toy aisle going for 30 Euros, to point out that I live in Portugal and they were in the European multi language box, weren't these guys only supposed to be released in Canada and Asia?

Oh bought one and no DVD inside, probably because the Prime cartoon is not yet licensed in all European countries with Hasbro distribution but it comes with a cool "Team Profiles CLASSIFIED" booklet.

The 2-pack was confirmed as exclusive to Canadian and Asian markets at Toy Fair.

The slide even had a little star-burst in the corner that said 'Canada and Asian Exclusive'.

Well, I picked up the only one of these in Wal-Mart today, and these guys are pretty cool. The Silas & Mech soldier a quite nice, and the Starscream actually isn't that bad either. Like, I still prefer the original's colour pallet to this one, but the plastic's got a little bit of metal flake in it which is always nice, and if the set itself was a little more easily available (or even single packed), I'd probably advocate troop building the Starscream.

I have this, but can't decide if I want to open it or sell it.

On one hand, the Bumblebee looks fantastic, perhaps even better than the original, despite the blue and I want the Silas. On the other, Starscream looks terrible. Perhaps I should use the Starscream as one of his clones?

Also, does anyone know what the comic the Australian one came with instead of the DVD is?
