So I looked at the original art cause something was buggin me about soundwave. The weird neck flaps he has. I dunno why those are there! They dont appear on the model at all and just look like extra plastic. Do they serve a purpose in alt mode at all and can they come off?

    Basically this

Huh weird! Mayb it just looks strange cause they are stuck to his head as opposed to just being part of his neck parts?

Edit, nope nevermindd they are attacked to his face just watched a video. Theyre just normally darker so they dont show as much. Weird.

Yeah, it's definitely because of that. On the toy they are positioned quite close to his neck, whereas in the show they are more angled and sit out almost as far as the tips of his head crest.

Soundwave doesn't even need leg poseability to show a bitch the door. Just ask Airachnid! - (and possiby arcee in season 2?)

    Really detailed shots, biscuit. Thanks!

This toy still looks great to me. I'm not a fan of the face-flaps, but if they're show accurate, then I guess I'll leave them on instead of cutting them off.

Any ideas for easy knee mods? I like my figures to have good knee bendability when possible.

Also, anyone thinking of adding a tiny little face (or at least just eyes) to Laserbeak when they get this? I think I'll use my Gundam marker.

That'd be great. And any action poses that you can pull off that show off the articulation would be cool to see as well :)

I want to like this guy. He does look pretty close to the show for his size, and his arms were really well done. Lazerbeak is pretty neat to. These legs though... after checking out Wheeljack and Cliffjumper, despite whatever issues they have, they both have ball jointed ankles, which makes for posing both easy and fun. Soundwave is the exact opposite. These legs seem poorly made both because they can't even match what the box pic shows and what the instructions say (at least not on mine) and trying to bend his knees is problematic with pieces of plastic that seem like their should have been a step in the transformation to get that out of the way.

He's not totally bad, just feels like a lazy execuation. His legs are the equivelant of CJ's arms, but even less functional.

I need to own this figure. The amount of fan-modes I can see this guy having is nuts.

    Why?

Anyway. Soundwave here is perfect for what he is. No he doesn't have the best legs I've ever seen, but honestly, I can't think of one time Soundwave has done anything with those legs except walk. Soundwave is imposing because he doesn't even need to move to be a threat. And that's why this toy is just absolutely perfect.

A voyager wouldn't be amiss, but this guy is pretty damn close to being accurately scaled, IMo.

He and Starscream are pretty in-scale as is. They're both relatively small considering what they turn into. Starscream especially isn't far off from the Autobots, and Soundwave's just shorter than him.

Scale seems to work better with Voyager Megatron, Voyager Optimus, Deluxe Starscream & Deluxe Soundwave - the cars (Bumblebee/Wheeljack) would probably be better scaled as scouts, but the bot modes are close in the Deluxe scale & Arcee should be a Legion, but her bot-mode on FE is too good to pass up...

    Thanks guys! I am stuck between;
    A) getting the Soundwave and using fe starscream and skipping the voyager
    B) skipping the Deluxe Soundwave in hopes of a voyager and getting voyager Starscream

I am a scale nut so I am going nuts on deciding, plus I am afraid the voyagers are going to tower over guys like Bulkhead and Breakdown cause of their bulk.

Deluxe Starscream is already as tall as/taller then most voyagers. Get the deluxe while you still can. It's a fantastic figure, and being part of the FE, may not see the light of day for a little while. Grab it while the picking is good. We havn't heard any news about a voyager Soundwave... Breakdown, Skyquake, Megatron, Starscream, yes. But no Soundwave. Don't take the chance, grab the deluxes while you can. Especially since Soundwave is gonna be shortpacked.

Fear not, I got one and he is awesome :D

Thanks for the help going to go deluxe and leader for the leaders:thumb

Sounds like as voyagers go that will pretty much be it for the (2012) Rid line plus Bulkhead and one more Autobot.
