    MMM,

Still producing these replacement knee joints? I am gonna finally open mine up and would rather do a preemptive strike and replace them right from the get go. :)

You would probably be better off sending him a pm there.

Also, you can do what I did and use a dremel to open up the hole on the knee joint. Mine works fine now after I did that.

No real need for the replacement part if you open up your rodimus and preemptively fix him up. Pretty much ensuring there is nothing gluing the knee to it's peg (like said above you can just kind of dremel the hole a little bigger) will keep the issue from happening.

Frankly. I'd pick the V2. But I'm a big fan of Rodimus in his standard colors. This one is pretty and all (and I enjoy having him) but gun to my head forced to only pick one, I'd want the one that best represents the character from my childhood.
*notably I think there's less reported problems with that version too

Honestly, this figure makes me wish that this is how Rodimus looked in G1. Decepticon and all.

WOW....That would have been nuts! At the time, The deceps didn't have any bot that looked even close to him..That might have been damn cool if it ended up optimus VS Rodimus like that

Black Rodimus. It's all about the colors for me. I've been drawn to the Decepticon color schemes a lot more than those of the Autobots. They're so different.

I going to see if I can buy a broken one and then buy megamoons knees so I can fix it.

It really would have. What would have been especially cool is if we had a Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader thing happen with him. I mean, the movie ripped off just about everything else from Star Wars, right? :D

Hey All bringing this back to life! there are threads all over for this but I cant seem to find any foot fix. It seems like the foot spring is loose and i think the figure will launch across the room at any time.

Is there a fix? if anyone could direct me in the right direction it would be MUCH appreciated!!!

I bought one of these a few weeks ago. I was prepared for the bad knees and sure enough it had them. Whilst removing the knees the post broke that the knees ride on, broke off. The knees were ridiculously tight, the holes were smaller than on the knees of Hasbro parts donor. So I painted up some thighs and knees from a donor Rodimus, and it works great.

So given that BBTS has just put this back up for pre-order, I have the following story from a few weeks back:

While looking for something else, I found a guy on eBay who does very good replacement parts for both MP-9B and the normal MP-9 reissue. Figuring I had nothing to lose because I'd never transformed the thing after finding it cracked, I ordered his parts a few weeks ago and was able to quickly do the fix on my MP-9B (which had cracking in the knee joints).

I never used MegaMoonMan's parts - which arrived after I ordered them - but because they weren't the same color as the parts I was replacing, I never got around to it. The parts I got off eBay were (as far as I can tell) the right color and fitted with only a little mucking around (a small amount of sanding) to ensure that the joint moved properly - also including removing the black paint from the inner peg that seemed to cause all the woe.

For 15 bucks or so, my MP-9 is in the condition it should have been in when it shipped - so those who have some reluctance around this could order if they can get their hands on these parts.

As I ordered this one from BBTS, I also, as a precaution, ordered a second set of MP-9B knee replacements.

If you don't transform your black rodimus and check his knees prior to first transformation (it's paint stuck on the joint that causes breakage) you won't have to buy anything most likely.. THough having a few spares never hurts.

Yeah it's not even first transformation that will do it, it's first movement of the knee joint. If it was broken pre that.. That's a shame.. Such a crappy oversight..

No, it's actually the knees are too weak and too tight to sustain under the heavy torque of the joint. That's why those die cast knees would be great as they can sustain the heavier torque.
