    Problems with the RID version:

His head is way far back.
something weird going on with his neck
    behind the head panel
    roof kibble on back
    shoulders attached to car panels
arms are just as long as this version

Got this guy today. Very pleased. Sad to see that he's currently a pegwarmer, because he doesn't deserve it.

How's the shoulders on yours? Really it seems the only thing holding this figure back from greatness is the friction-less shoulders. Hopefully when mine arrives I can find a way to fix it.

hooks instead of pegs and using wheels that are designed to free float and rotate for shoulder joints?

who thought this was a great idea?

Happened to mine, but it was on Bumblebee's right leg (his right, not "my right"). It's really a shame because other than that I think he's an excellent figure. I think I've determined that the problem is the socket, not the ball (I know this because I swapped legs to test it out and his left hip socket snaps onto his right hip ball just fine). Luckily the hip sockets are symmetrical so you can buy a second one, and if it has the same problem just swap out the defective piece and return the bum figure to the store (and keep the second blaster for your troubles). That's what I'm doing, but through Toysrus.com since I haven't seen Prime toys in stores yet.

The shoulders on mine are fine. I don't see any problems.

Had there been springs in them none of us would be having issues.

I have to admit, at first I was not impressed with Prime Bumblebee (or Arcee for that matter). From Sunday until now I had not touched them since transforming them to robot mode. However, as they sat on my desk right next to my laptop, I felt myself liking them more and more, at least in how they looked. Tonight I finally picked up Bumblebee and transformed him back to vehicle mode, and I found that even though I used the instructions it was actually fun, and now I feel like I'm just going to like this guy more and more. :)

I should also note that I have no problems with loose joints or whatever on mine, so I can't really say what made me feel so let down about it.

picked this guy up today since this was the first time seeing prime figs (bee was the only one I had) after seeing starscream over 2 weeks ago and I really wanted more TFP figures.
I knew he had problems and had told myself not to buy him and almost immediately after opening and transforming him wished I had taken my own advice.

He would be a cool figure if the damned arms didn't swing loose back and forth, who decided that attaching the arm to wheels like that is a good idea? I don't even have the shoulder clip problem, the arms are just awful. Also, he has a stress mark running across part of his face which is also frustrating.

I'm returning him tomorrow, theres no reason for me to keep this.

Just grabbed him from HTS for $12.80, liking that free shipping deal. I'll add to the review once he's in hand.

So my copy arrived. Great little figure. Mine has only one sort-of loose arm. I say sort of because while holding heavy objects is out of the question, it can hold any pose as long as it's not holding anything heavier than his gun. The other has no problem. I love that chest transformation. My only gripe with the design is his doors just sort of being there. Not like the CGI model at all. If they rotated up. Also the left door on mine is loose. Everything else is great. Excellent little guy, great mould, great engineering and the colours are very nice. He's not lacking paint at all, though I think I'm gonna paint the face to be light silver like the show. Great toy.

I've noticed a little extra bit of transforming I see few take advantage of. His bumper halves angle down to look more like the show.

Got this Bee recently. I liked him much better the second time Transforming him than the first. I still think the feet are crap, but they're bearable. The chest is pretty cool once you figure it out, and the arm molds are pretty sharp. I prefer the "tucked in" shoulder positioning, I know it's less accurate to the show but I think it looks better. Wish there was wrist swivel, but it's no big deal because he doesn't have any holdable guns anyway.

He has below the forearm swivels, though, shich sort of makes up for the lack of wrists.

After getting my second copy of Bumblebee and swapping out a couple parts with the first one (since the first one had a bum hip and the second one had an unmovable front bumper), I have to say I'm really enamored with Bumblebee. If your copy has loose shoulders just tap the pin in lightly with a hammer and nail, it's so easy.

I wish they would have put a little more engineering in his legs and completed his door-wing transformation, but other than that I'm impressed. His torso transformation is amazingly intricate and intuitive, and is still fully articulated. Unlike most I'm a big fan of the "hook" design they used for his shoulders because it allows for pectoral articulation, and the below-the-elbow swivel was a generous touch. I look forward to seeing properly transformed images of the RID version so we can judge whether it overall improves on the first edition.

Prime Bumblebee is kind of a crappy toy. When you consider how heavily the design is based off of the movie version and how many variations they have made of it, this kind of falls flat.

Nothing really locks together all that well in robot mode, the legs are difficult to peg in when transforming to car mode, and it is hard to pose the figure without something flopping around.

I paid $10 for mine here in Canada because he was on sale, and still feel it was too much. The only reason I got him was because I picked up every other character in the line. My recommendation for anyone considering picking up this figure is that you should pick him up only after you have picked up every other figure in the line, because they are all much better than this figure.

When you consider the onscreen model cheats even more than the movie model does they did pretty well. Everything locks together fine of mine. The legs aren't that hard for vehicle mode once you realise A) you have to do it like the instructions say, one at a time, and B) the legs won't sit completely flush until you click them into the doors. Also, I found how to "lock" his doors in robot mode. The joint the actual door sits on is sort of a slide joint where there's a tiny bit of movement. Once it's sldie out you can hook it onto the windshield, keeping the doors firmly in place and not flop around. Granted he's not outstanding, he's fairly standard as far as Bumblebee's go with the possible exception for the clever method of removing the roof from the back and the placement of the rear window, but he's far from crappy. He's better than Arcee that's for sure, if only for looks. The only thing I could see improved is to make his lower legs more streamlined.

Hmm... I wonder if the Takara Tomy version will have better paint apps?

I think he's just very heavily packed - not really a pegwarmer, just tons of him compared to the others.

It doesn't. We've seen what it looks like. It's yellow is a titch closer to the show, but I'm not keen on paying 100% markup for a slightly different shade of yellow.

Honestly, besides making the face silver, I don't see how it could really be substantially improved paint-wise without going into kitbash territory.
