This is for the Takara DD-09 version, but I'm pretty sure the Hasbro version will be identical.

    Pros
-nice alt mode (aren't all HA cars nice anyways?)
    -wicked transformation
    -moveable mouth
    -articulated fingers
-very stable tripod feet and poseable legs
-good use of Laserbeak (hoverbike for Gould + shoulder cannon for Soundwave)
-interesting alt weapon for Gould (sitting on Soundwave's arm manning some speakers)

    Cons
-could have used silver paint on the car body
-could have used more mass in the legs
-arm kibble gets in the way of poseability
-Laserbeak is a bit tricky to clip onto Soundwave's forearm because of his size and surrounding kibble
    -no articulated neck on Laserbeak

Yeah, I think the only differences between this & the Hasbro one have to do with some packaging stickers & a character card.

Getting back to the figure itself, I know people have been receiving the legs & whatnot differently, but that's actually one of the thing that I like about it. I mean, we don't just have a generic robot coming from a cool car. Instead, we have something pretty frightening that looks to benefit from a lot of clever possibility, and these metal'flaked casts really do tend to look better in person than they do on camera because of the minor colour variations. This is also what drove me to like the ROTF Mixmaster (the behemoth like stature), so I can picture myself posing these guys together somewhere down the line.

I don't mind the legs being how they are, they're mechanical beings, their legs can be anything. And I'm not too picky about screen-accuracy, so...

Whoa, I think you just nailed it! Your post made me realize that I love this guy and Mixmaster for some of the same reasons. I also don't care about screen accuracy (I barely watched the films) and the toys look killer to me.

Hey megatroptimus, if possible, could you post some action pose later, and a size comparison with any (common) figure?

personally, 3 characters from the transformers universe I've always liked... Optimus, Shockwave, Soundwave. Of the 3 I've always liked soundwave's less typical behaviours/designs. I was really glad when I saw him in the movie incarnation and looks they really did him justice with the HA (deluxe is just.... crap comparatively IMO). Really really been looking forward to getting this one since I saw the preview pics.

Nice pro/cons btw, highlights the figure nicely.

He's one head taller than BBBB, and one head smaller than HA BB according to the last video review.

Looks like crap to me. Only thing I'd get it for is to have a more size accurate Laserbeak. Which isn't worth the price of admission.
I'd be okay with that, if the deluxe didn't look like crap to...
I never though I'd say that the soundwave from ROTF was better... but it is.

Thats right.... This thing turds all over the deluxe now. I'll own both...but this one IS better. VERY...VERY nasty and evil looking. The deluxe just looks like any generic car bot.

After looking at the reviews more, HA Soundwave is starting to warm up to me. IF I decide to get him, he'll have to be on clearance first.

Yeah. Deluxe Soundwave comes off looking more like a movie Autobot than anything else.

HA Soundwave has that powerful, monstrous look befitting of a movie 'Con.
