Actually, it's more like the shape of the toys sword is accurate to the show. As far as the sillouhette goes...
But the blue "Energon blade" part of it is on the wrong side. Look at some screenshots to see what I mean.
The only way to get a truly accurate sword is to repaint it with the blade on the other side.

Pretty much what I've done! I'd rather use the other hand for a Mechtach weapon. DotM sideswipes gun looks pretty nifty!

How the hell are people getting two guns for him anyway?

[PS: The wait is killing me!]

Buying two Primes = two guns.

If you took the time to get it right, I'm sure people would. I know I would consider it, but will need the one that it comes with in hand to see how much it really bothers me.

How soft is it, by the way? Like Vector Prime's wings/sword? Like Bludgeon's blades?

Does it stay in position though? Or does it get bent horribly out of shape and stay that way like Bludgeons blade?

He is indeed lovely. I wish the shins pegged in a bit more securely, but otherwise he has lovely tight joins and a solid feel. Yeah, the sword is a bit crappy, but never mind.

Also, not sure if its been pointed out (hell, it could even be in the instructions for all I know!) but the sword can peg in under the gun barrel for a bayonet look.

Other than the rubber sword which is so soft,it is a perfect figure.

Well, after owning him for nearly a week I can say this is my favourite voyager Optimus figure bar-none...

...and I may just pick up the Takara version if it's different enough too! :p

I'd say it's a similar softness to Cybertron Megatron's knee pads. Really rubbery stuff. I needed to use a rubber band for the bayonet mode on the gun.

    It was beautiful....... :cry

Oh well, it still looks like a great toy. I love how kibble-less it looks! Sword looks lame, but the one in the show doesn't look super flashy and awesome anyway. Movie Prime has the best weapons by far.

I'll be getting this once I see it at retail.

PS: Thanks for the extra pics Paladin!

Not so much. An AK has a more solid sound than a M4 or M16. You'd be surprised how different they are in sound between assault rifle makes. Some people can tell the gun just by the firing sound alone. I'd like the larger guns on the show to have a similar distinction. It was a more immersive effect on the G1 show even though us children didn't realize it then. Nice figs guys.

My Optimus' right leg has problem staying pegged after transformation, unlike its left. Is it just mine or the same for everyone's else?

I agree. I'd like something more than just the "pew pew" that they are using right now. Hell, they could even use the G1 sound for Meg's gun and that would still sound awesome and right for the character.
