Honestly, that 199.99 shipped deal from Newegg was pretty good in my opinion; so good in fact, I'm surprised people are still holding out for the Hasbro release.

Not to say the Hasbro release won't happen because it probably will, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro jacks the price up on this MP figure. As you said, HE IS OPTIMUS FREAKING PRIME:2c:

Just imagine him with neutered smokestacks and Hasbro grey in place of silver. Maybe a nice Hasbro grey gun too.
Oh, and mustn't forget the battle damage! It'll kind of make up for the lack of storage for his axe.

Coming soon to a TRU near you...

Don't forget the lack of a trailer as well, there's no way Hasbro will put that in there.

Sorry guy's but after compareing the pics and so fourth to my MP-01 Prime I I dont think this new version comes close to matching it. In my book it looks cheap and has no where near the detail of MP-01 Prime. Optimus has ALWAYS been my all time favorite TF and thats why I went with MP-01 and I have never regretted it. But to each is own as they say and I am glad some on here are enjoying the new version of Optimus but for me MP-01 is the only version for me and I am proud to have him in my collection.

Quick request to anyone who can help out: If you have G2 Megatron and/or G1 Shockwave could you do some quick comparison photos between them and MP 10? If its not too much trouble of course.

I've been putting together my own little display of TF's as far as the kind of robot mode scale I've always preferred and wondered how MP 10 stacks up size wise to those two Cons.

I didn't want to clutter up the board with a whole new thread so I just went ahead and asked here. Thanks in advance to anyone who can do it.

Or alternatively, don't write a toy off unless you've spent a little time with it.

Have both. Glad to have both. Same character. Very different toys.

    Gotta agree here.
To be a fan of Optimus and not be interested in Mp-10 at all is weird.
    :)
But hey MP-01 is cool. If you're happy.. I'm happy. :)

    Definitely agree as well.

I love MP-10 and to me it's my ideal Prime and absolute favorite in a collection of...i don't even know how many Primes. 50-100, I'd guess.

That said, this toy in no way diminishes my love and appreciation for MP-01. I think both succeed in different ways and have designs that have different intents. MP-01's got a few issues that bug me, but I've found myself enjoying it more than ever lately because of the differences from MP-10. The price is steep for MP-10, so I can see how anyone would want it be superior to MP-01 by a much wider margin. I can't recommend it to everyone for $250, but I strongly recommend picking it up if it hits the U.S. for under $100.

Don't have a pic, but I can tell you that G1 Shockwave his eye is at the same level as MP-10's chin/neck, so they scale pretty well together. (Of course, Shockwave is rather thin compared to MP-10.)

BTW, did anyone else have problems with the smokestacks on MP-10 ? Both were troublesome on mine. I had to take one shoulder apart simply because the smokestack wasn't properly inersted into the shoulder. And the other smokestrack was very loose. If I just touched the figure/truck it would slide in.

Yeah, I had this issue. I had to take the arm apart and added a thin layer of superglue to the internal track that the smokestack slides on. I then let it dry for an hour and reassembled. I had to sand off a tiny bit of the glue (I had put too much initially) and now it works perfectly.

Got mine, and opened him up tonight. In a word AWESOME!!! By far the most accurate representation of Optimus I have ever seen. It is like he just walked out of the tv screen from the Sunbow series. Just wow.

I like him a lot better than MP-1. More sleek, a simpler transformation, and the trailer is terrific. It's a high price, but this guy is phenomenal. I'm looking forward to a US release as well.

The pictures show a lot, but really, you've got to have this guy in your hands to fully appreciate him. I can't stop gushing or geeking out here, best TF toy i've gotten in awhile.

anyone else have a crack in the wheel cover panel hinges? one of mine is cracked, dunno what to do with it since i've had it for a couple months and i never noticed it before. just that one was slightly looser than the other when transforming. i might just try to plasticweld it and call it a day. don't think i can get a replacement part for it now

Excellent, he's the same size as ROTF Leader Optimus. Thanks for the pix! Now I know I want him.

Is there a chance somebody can get a picture of him in both vehicle and robot mode with a [preferably] Binaltech or Alternator figure? I'd like to see how they are on equal terms, if any.
