| Autobot Leader Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 2,688 Location: Massachusetts Collection Count: 729 News Credits: 4 | Sideshow Optimus Prime Maquette in-hand images I haven't seen anyone post that they had received their sideshow Optimus maquette so I wanted to share some quick photos I took on the phone since we have only seen him at conventions or the sideshow website. I will take better photos this weekend. All in all this guy is amazing. He is huge. 2ft tall and while the price tage of $1,200 was a bit insane, you can see the detail they put into him. I am very impressed with the paint, especially the battle damage. I know my pics right now don't do the best job representing him, but I'll show the scuff marks off better this wekend. He would have been awesome with some LEDs, but it's a small gripe when you see him in person. So for now here is Sideshow Optimus. More to follow.... |

I do agree that the shoulders on top could have used a slight bit more detail but nothing I am really complaining about. The head is very detailed with the silver and gold.

Was hoping the delay meant that they'd add in paintstripes, and for the pricetag it's a bit insane that it doesn't have them. The details do look a bit soft, and they are a bit lacking on top of that. Won't comment on the paintjob until we get better pics, since flash always mucks with colors and makes even the greatest paintjob look horrid. |
