Base is from the 20th anniversary Prime.

Just got the legend studios case from BBTS.

Pretty nice case if it lasts.

I got shipped one instead of DMK-03 if anyone is looking. The place I ordered if from won't do an exchange.

I just picked this guy up, and he wins handsdown over DMK 03 nust for the painted detailing.
I did however have some issues with parts. The left (optimus' left) windscreen piece is bent out of shape due to the window plastic forcing the red frame outwards too much when they plugged together, and his right arm sword attatchment linking into the forearm armour snapped in half. Is there a way to request replacement parts, or find people i can buy the parts from ie on here?

I just finished my DMK03 and here it is with the DMK01. I'm planning to paint my DMK01. Any suggestion on how I should go about stripping the flames decals on the DMK01? Or should I just spray paint over them?

Anyone try to mod the FWI-03 to fit the DMK-01? As a model, would it even support the Jetwing parts?

I'm currently on the fence between getting a DMK-01 and the upcoming APS-01U. All I really want is to leave it on display so obviously the DMK looks better but I have no idea if it can support the upgrade. I've seen some sick customs of it but I have no idea how easy the conversion is.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good tool kit to use?

How are you guys painting these figures, they look great! Are you using brushes, spray cans or paint guns?

    Necro-ing this thread

Does anyone know of any kits, even outside TF's that would give a similar building experience as DMK-01?

I loved building it, but other kits I've seen like Flame Toys or non-tf kits don't have that level of detail or number of parts to them

Have you looked into Gundam models? Specifically Master Grade and Real Grades? (especially more recent ones)

I have tried looking at some, some of them don't have that detail I'm looking for, but others have some of that detail like pistons and detailed chest cockpit around the chest, but I don't know what to look for to find ones with more details like that, I ideally want something that will take as much time to build as DMK-01 Optimus was, I enjoyed putting the smaller detail on with tweezers, and I liked that everything was coloured and had decals already as well, love the chrome bits too

I'm just in unknown waters, not sure what terms to search to find what I'm looking for

Exposed mechanical detail with small parts if definitely part of what I'm looking for, is that just on Master grade kits ?

I saw one called Iron Blooded Barbatos that has lovely pistons and details, are there more like that?

The MG Barbatos is probably the closest to what you’re looking for. Unfortunately so far it’s the only Gundam from that show in Master Grade.

There’s also larger Real Grades, like the Nu/High Nu Gundam and Sazabi, but they don’t have the exposed pistons and stuff unless you separate the armour and bend the joints.

You could also go with the recent Yolopark Optimus model from the Bumblebee movie but it’s much larger and more expensive.

Yeah the yolopark one definitely seems closest to what I'm looking for

Thanks for the help though, I'm definitely going to look into the Real Grades and others you mentioned
