At BotCon 2011, the Robot Kingdom Booth had 2 repaints of The Another War TAW-01 God Sword. One had blue paint and clear blue plastic shields. The other was a purple version with clear green shields. When I saw that I thought, "OMG Shattered Glass color accessories! Must buy!" If you read the bio on Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, he is always looking for the most advanced weaponry so the God Sword is perfect for him. I asked the Robot Kingdom owner Steven Chen if he was selling that version currently. He said he had 1 extra and that I would be the very first person to buy this. Steve was not sure of the availability but the RobotKingdom website would post the pre orders next week along with other unlicensed custom products like BTS Sonicron (black or blue not Soundwave), TFC Hercules (not Devastator), and FansProject Heartmaster (not Powermaster). This version of the God Sword will receive a limited release since it has Shattered Glass colors similar to the BTS 01 Nemesis Motion base with Rollout Drone (trailer). This is an early release so there may be slight changes in the general release. The packaging colors are light blue with a dark blue character wearing dark blue armor. The GS I think stands for Glass Shattered. Once opened, you can see that the sword is painted silver unlike unpainted clear previous releases. Note the bloodstain on the tip of the sword, which is probably the largest selling point of this set. What other unlicensed custom accessories can you buy with BLOODSTAINS? The jetpack in Shattered Glass Optimus Prime in neutral mode. The backpack was loosely attached to the back peg and the wings were a very tight fit, so it may require some filing. The purple matches well but the gray is a little lighter than the original gray on Optimus. Battle mode: God Sword mode. Optimus is always looking for bigger and badder weapons and you cannot get bigger and badder than this. It holds loosely, though. Since Optimus does not have wrist swivel, he cannot hold it using 2 hands. With iGear PP-01E Evil Leader. It is on a better scale Evil Leader is a little larger.
God Sword vs. Shadow Scythe I found my better camera and have more detailed pictures of TAW01GS God Sword. Since I have a sample not intended for sale, like the BTS Sonicrons RobotKingdom sold, there are flaws that may be fixed in the final release. I am reporting these issues to RobotKingdom so that they may relay the info to Perfect Effect. By the way, the designers at PerfectEffect are mainly artists than sales people. They just want to focus on creating nice products and not delve too much in the aspect of selling them. That is why they have retailers like RobotKingdom to advertise and market the products. The first issue I had was that the peg in the rocket pack that is supposed to attach to the hole behind Optimus Prime is too small, making the backpack loose. it can still loosely attach because the rocket pack encompases Optimus Prime's back area. Another issue is that one of the wings attach too tightly to the rocket pack. I do not want to use too much force in sticking the wing on the rocket pack for fear of damage. This can probably be fixed with a thin file. The last thing to point out is that the sword handle is loose in Optimus Prime. It is more better for 4mm holes than 5mm holes. This also means that 4 mm hands can hold them as well, which could also be a plus. Shadow Scythe, on the other hand is a little large for 5mm holes. Mine has a very tight fit in the Hands of the Protector armor. In regards to the Shattered Glass Universe (or Shatteredverse), Rodimus is like Starscream in the G1 Universe, where he wants to seize power from his leader by any means, whether by scheming or using force. Here, Rodimus acquires Protector Armor and a powerful Shadow Scythe weapon to become Rodimus Prime. He gains allies in his quest for power and one of them is Targetmaster Blesser. At the same time, Optimus coerces Wheeljack to research special weapon technology which leads to the forging of the God Sword and Rocket pack to enable flight. After a previous failed attempt, Rodimus Prime decides to go after his leader's head directly with his enhanced armor but is in for a surprise when Optimus enters God Sword mode... Here Blesser uses the extra chrome wings. I reversed them so it looks like a wicked double barreled and bladed weapon. Optimus Prime is using the extra gun that came with PP-01E Evil Leader, which has gold paint to match the gold on Optimus. The green shields actually match the green on Optimus Primes rooflights and floodlights (that is why they chose green). The sword is also clear green, but they painted it over with silver and BLOOD. The Primes enter close combat. Optimus Prime had an advantage with twin shields to block incoming strikes. Side by side comparison of the armored primes. Size comparison of weapons. Rodimus Prime can also hold God Sword and is more posable with it. The sword is still loose so that will limit the poses it can do with it.
You could slip a little bit of card in his hand so hit does not rotate I suppose. I heard some place it's possible to fit the shields either side on the fansproject trailers gun attach points - but i've never actually seen this done as yet. I'd like to see this sword with the Purple KMC-X Train sometime too. but you'd probably need to use some Gundam hands or something like that to get him to hold a staff as his hands can't hold things all the way through out of the box. If it's possible to knock something up though I'm sure it would suit him too. [edit] Yes it is possible. I would add a warning about the fragility of the arm clips though. Best to just use them end of the arms rather than try to flex them as they have a tendency to snap.
