The tractor trailer mode is awesome. Not gunna go into nitpicking, but this is the FIRST Optimus Prime with a trailer I have owned since he was originally released in G1.

The paint scheme on Prime is much more G1, dropping the flames, and going for a brighter red. I love it. I think its a better look that the preview or stand alone commander. I LOVE IT.

When its hooked to the trailer, I just start smiling thinkin about my G1 Prime and that silver trailer...This may not be huge, but its a very nice size for what it is, and what it does.

Unfortunaly, im sure alot of you know, there is NO trailer articulation, so the tractor and trailer are permenantly in the straight position. Big deal, my 3 year old is oblivious to that, and he is right now driving prime around with the trailer.

Paint on the trailer is fantastic. Its a nice bright silver, Has a few panel lines, and the rear wheels are pretty chessy, but all in all, just kick F'n ASS.

To convert to battle base, you move some panels around, but this does not feel like an after thought. There are tabs where the sides slide in to locate correct positions, and over all its VERY stable, can hold a car with the ALL GLORIOUS RAMP!!!... and his spring weapon fits on top, where optimus can grab the controls and make decepti-slag.

When this is in "base" mode, I get SUCH a G1 feel with the central gun reminding me of the unit that came up in G1s trailer...Its just awesome...Im running out of awesome...its awesome. It has two connectors to link up other play sets on the sides, and one in the back. Seems pretty standard now

His BFG looks stellar as he mans it, and the base side make Great ramparts for other cyberverse commanders

They call it "assault vehicle mode" but all us dorks know this as a MECH-SUIT. YESSSSS.....

The arms are on large ball joints and hold position WELL. prime clicks in on his back, and his feet kinda slide into index location, so he is in there GOOD. When his arms are grabbing the sticks, you can get some motion out of the MECH-SUIT arms, and it looks great.

Its actually pretty tall, when you stand other cyberverse next to it. The BFG looks great again, and there molded guns on the other arm, and spot for mechtek, and mini mechtek to add weapons.

Cyberverse is what im MOST impressed with in the DOTM line. Sure I KNEW we would see sweet deluxes, cool voyagers, and awesome leaders (sans Bee) But these guys are just stellar. The play factor and just amount of pure FUN is hard to quantify in a post like this. Im going back to grab megatron after this one is sooo kick ass.

To me, this is a NO BRAINER if your diggin cyberverse. Everyones gunna have one of these. To link up to other sets, to link to the Ark, to have a Prime in this scale with a trailer....This set delivers. Not too much I can beat up on it about the trailer rear wheels are very cheesssy..but other than that, the MECH-SUIT mode is F'n kick ass....the base mode...KICK ASS...Trailer...KICK ASS....this is THE BEST Cyberverse commander set yet...

what are you waiting for?!?!? GO GET THIS THING!!!

BTW....There is a squared like "handle" shape on the top rear of the trailer...cant figure it out. I thought it might have clipped on back but dosent seem to be the case..

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Maybe it is used to connect to the Ark playset somehow?

 

possible, Although I seen spots on megatrons fusion cannon from the single pack, and peaugh figured out they connected on the sides of his cannon on the full trailer version...pretty cool.....

theres tons of possibilitys..the more these interact with the Ark...the better...i hope your right

 

I like the colors enough that I won't run out and get the preview Prime to replace the core figure. Still, when Fireburst Prime and the new clip-on weapons are out, he'll be put in.

One potentially awesome thing I noticed: the base mode is curved, while Bumblebee's base mode is straight. You could conceivably make an octagonal fence with enough bases linked together...

 

Re. pic #7 - interesting. This trailer will fit on Megs, though I know the reverse isn't possible without modding in another clip on the Blastwave trailer. Redeco potential?

 

Yep, Already started with Starscreams, BBs, and primes...They will make a VERY cool lil fortress...even better as ramparts or defences fopr the Ark..

Curses! Time to start fiddling with Lego clips then...

 

Can answer the latter, anyway - yes, 3mm clip, same as Preview Prime's jetpack; physically the same clip on the truck as well.

Got this one today. I swapped the primes out and put the preview one on as the cab. I like the flames on it better. Its a pretty sweet set. I kind of like the big powered commander mode. My only qualm with it the set, and it may be unique to my version, is how some of the paint had rubbed off the side of the trailer in the package. There are some "weathering" marks I guess. Otherwise, this set is really nice and has a lot of great features.
