I'd just take a small Philips screwdriver and open it up and straighten the interior parts out. From experience, the spring can get tangled or bent easily and that can screw up the mechtech switch mechanism. It's fairly easy and straightforward to get things lined up inside again, just be careful not to lose the spring since it can pop loose and fly away from you.

I never liked this mold. I'm sorry to say, but I just don't like this mold. I love this paint scheme. But I don't like the mold. I also don't like the QC problems, (ie: overly tight joints, which is actually a step up from Assid Storms noodle-like-nature. Or the fact I can barely get his cockpit to fold into his chest due to some kind of misalignment.)

Picked this one up today. Don't have Starscream, so this is my first time with the mold. He's not bad. Not great, but not bad. I definitely like the blue, though (which is why I went with TC over Starscream). Would've liked to have gotten Starscream's Mechtech weapon rather than another of Roadbuster's, but that's OK. Thinking I may go ahead and get a Starscream anyway, and hope a Skywarp comes out of this mold. I'd like a movie seeker trio. :)

Only real complaint is... why must they do the elbows this way? It took a LOT of the enjoyment out of Battle Blades Bumblebee for me, too.

EDIT: OK, I take that back - he has some really high "proper" elbow joints. Not great for posing, but it mitigates my complaint a bunch.

    DOTM Deluxe Thundercracker

Couldn't find a thread about this one using the search function, so feel free to merge if one already exists.

Not much to say about this figure, other than the paint job is amazing. 3 complaints though:

-too bad it doesn't have a new head or one that matches the Movie 1 Voyager version
-stupid choice of weapons... seriously, half of Starscream's weapon and Roadbuster's? WTF thought it was going to be a good idea? I ended up buying a 2nd TC to have one with 2 identical weapons (I chose the chainsaws).
-I think the extra paint on the panels located under the wings prevents them from being perfectly parallel to the ground so with the weapons, it looks like they're sagging

Still glad I got one (well, two!), now waiting for Skywarp!

Thundercracker's choice of weapons is definitely much better than Starscream's shit-tacular Mechtech swords, I feel. At least the chainsaw is actually menacing rather than some ridiculously oversized blade staff.

Thundercracker's paint apps really win here. I thought Starscream was pretty good looking but Thundercracker proves just what paint jobs can do for some figures. I got Skywarp too, and if you already have SS and TC then you can't go wrong with Skywarp.

Thew put it perfectly,Starscream's combined weapon is a Darth Maul steak knife :lol . Thundercracker's colors are much better than Screamer's..a lot less bland. His weapons are neat,I like both. Unfortunatly, when you take out the spring, the chainsaw's REALLY loose. I love the mold and I'd LOVE Skywarp :( ...and a Ramjet..and maybe a G1 Starscream :D

I find it to be a mildly interesting, but not super-exciting mold. The paintjob, however, is really fantastic. The blue they've used for both Generations TC and DotM TC (if it's not the same, it's similar) is really just beautiful. The rest of it just works really well.

I don't have Starscream (I still fight with myself about whether or not to get him), so this is my only version of this mold... I don't really think Roadbuster's weapon really fits. I'd have preferred just recoloring Starscream's weapon, two different weapons, or something completely new. Oh well.

I would have no reservations in calling DOTM Thundercracker the Best Transformer of the Year. He has amazing articulation, amazing accuracy to Starscream model, great paint apps, and great and playable accessories. He's more or less the perfect Deluxe.

The spring is the only thing keeping everything tight on the Roadbuster chainsaw. You'd have to do a bit of clever working to get it to stay open and tight. I was thinking of making some sort of hinge for the top lever and cut a notch into the top of the gun to lock it in but I'm not THAT good of a customizer!

Both of mine were pretty wobbly and loose when I took the spring out. I think I will give it a try though...making a locking hinge and notch to lock it in place.

I got this today and... holy crap, this mold is excellent! I didn't want to get screamer because I already have the amazing Leader, but I gave the mold a chance in TC's colors. What great colors he has, his blue is glossy and glorious and his mechtech weapons are neat. Outstanding poseability and looks great in both modes.

Some joints on mine were ULTRA tight however, and the blue part of one of his feet required extreme force (and a bit of shaving) the first time i flipped it. It switches neatly now but it got a nasty stress mark in the underside (luckily invisible unless you're staring at his sole, and even then it's nothing terrible)

But I digress, I love Thundercracker and you should buy it too.

I agree. The SS mold is really kick ass man. and I think just the fact the thundercracker repaint came so fast even shows how confident H was with the look of TC. The shiny blue plastic is really nice. Mine was real tight too. I like that though..not as bad as you described..

i got this in the target pack with nitro bumblebee, which i am donating, and TC is pretty cool other than mine having 2 right forearms. I was thinking about getting the mold anyways but was also deterred by the fact that i have the leader as well, so this was a perfect excuse for it. I wish he came with something other than the sword though, but i'll probably use it on someone else because it doesn't fit with TC at all imo.

I wish I had thought to do that. I was pretty excited when I saw him in the store, but then when I started to pull him off the peg and BB was coming with him, I left it because I already had Bee. I'll have to keep this in mind next time I see him...
