Skyhammer is pretty great. The transformation is different, the Mechtech thing is well-integrated, and it's not hindered by a mechanism to spin the propeller. And it just looks really badass.

As with most DOTM toys I've started to realize, GREAT figure with the awful mech tech. I want Skyhammer...and I'll probably customize a nose gun for a Hind gunship look!

I could have sworn the instructions say it is removable.

Another note about the instructions is that they are using photographs instead of illustrations

The instruction do say to remove the blades. However, they most assuredly do not come out, just pull out a little.

K, glad I wasn't the only one with this question. I thought I was going to break SH's rotor blade assembly! But I was sure it was NOT going to come off... I guess, like many things, they decided to alter the design/transformation late in the game. No problem of course, I'm just glad it doesn't affect transformation.

I just realized that I hate the knee articulation

This guy is so packed full with awesome its ridiculous. It's a little bit of a pain transforming him with the rotors attached and yet I'm very happy that it is possible because even on a heli-bot removing parts feels like cheating to me. I love the lanky but athletic look of this guy. As much as I feel like the Cons are getting no love in DOTM I'm personally hoping we get a repaint remold of Skyhammer as Springer.

Just got this guy today and have to say I agree. He's got Classics Jetfire syndrome: really cool look to him, but articulation is placed wrong. Got the leg swivels below the knee rather than above them. Try to pose his legs and he looks like a cowering schoolgirl

Like his wave mate, it appears that almost everything tabs or snaps into place on Skyhammer. I really like that.

Probably my new favorite Voyager since NEST Mindwipe.

His knees are a tad wonky, but not horrible. I can live with them. Also, the white head doesn't look as bad in person then it does in pics.

This guy's definitely one of my favorite DOTM figures so far. Love how the blades form around his body.

Does Skyhammer's Mechtech lock? I can get it to lock halfway out, but I'd love to have the full sword lock. I know Voyager Megs and Shockwave can do it, and supposedly the other Voyagers can...is it possible?

As far as I can tell, no. It doesn't lock. [EDIT] Oh, wait...

It does, in the same way that every other Voyager's weapon locks. I've heard people say that they have to twist a little harder than usual the first time, though.

it locks but its kind of a bitch.... If you have the blade facing away from you, push the "slide" in and rotate it almost 90 degrees counter clockwise and it'll lock. It just doesn't seem as cooperative as Megatron's mechtech.

also, he's a really bad ass toy, I really love this mold. The scale nazi in me is screaming "NOOOOO, HE NEEDS TO BE LEADER SIZED ARRGHGHAHGOSDFLJALHG"....but the sensible side of me says, "Hey buddy, don't be dick....just buy more TFs in scale with this guy".

I noticed that a lot of Skyhammers have a mold chip on the right side of his head. I had to look through a lot of them to find one without the chip.

It's a minor thing but drove me insane everytime I looked at him.

Awesome figure though. Easily my favorite of the ones I picked up.

Spotted one today when I found Shockwave. He looked pretty cool, aside from the head. Something about it just bugs the hell out of me.

The weapon locks out? News to me, but it just added bonus points to an already cool figure.
