Tonight is the night of Bumble Bee~ I made a gallery of Nitro BB and Leader BB at the same time Now it is the turn for Nitro BB "Some of my best friends are humans" Obviously every vehicles in DOTM have several modes. Apart from the armored mode, seems they all have a very sci-fi feeling space mode. (Nitro mode?) This Nitro Bumble Bee look so much like the one in “back to the future”. Personally I like sci-fi designs, and this one is pretty cool and well designed. But the Mechtech…is just too much for me. Transform! I believe this bumble bee comes from the designer who design the V class OP. The leg’s transformation is very similar and both of them are un-ordinary design. But sadly this time it didn’t help much for Bumble Bee, what a waste. Robot mode It is just an average design. Not as good as before. The body is more simple but the back pack is over detailed. The posability is not very good. He doesn’t have a waist joint, No heel joint, and the arm design is old, I will say…nothing worth surprising. Besides, he has NO gimmick at all… The only good thing is, the MechTech can act as a shield… (Please notice that there are no locking feature for deluxe Mechtech, I removed the springer for photo shooting) NITRO>M3>M2 Overall I think the M2 and DOTM are both cool figures But Nitro…I can only recommend the vehicle mode. I just find that the chest can be further transformed So I update a picture of him With the dorso parts flipped up The body detail is improved. however it becomes more bulky then before, kind of fat? Anyway, I still like the M2 or M3 more.
This guy looks cool, different enough from BB Bee to be maybe worth a buy. Depends what cool stuff he does with this mode in the flick. Also, are we SURE that the regular DotM Bee is a retool of Battle Blades? I know they have similar transformations but that height difference is drastic. Do they actually have that many pieces in common? Also, I think we know this already, but this should be in Feedback. Nevertheless, great pics and review.
Definitely the best DotM Bee figure so far, and one of the best Deluxe Bee's we've gotten since the movie lines began. Only downside is the headsculpt. A battle-masked sculpt would have looked much better, imo. I'm kinda hoping this get's repainted/retooled like the Cannon Bee mold was. Not sure if it was intended, but his arms look like they've each got a small cannon built into them. He's definitely misstransformed in these pictures. The dark gray stomach piece should cover part of the middle of his chest (like we've seen in previous pictures). The backpack also looks like it could use some readjusting, and the wings should be angled differently. Assuming the mold doesn't get a repaint that has a battle-mode head, this'll most likely become my new movie Bumblebee figure. It's very similar, but definitely not the same weapon. Part of me thinks this Mechtech weapon should have belonged to Mudflap. That way the twins have similar weaponry. Personally I would have been fine with Nitro Bee coming with a repaint of the wave 1 Bee's weapon. That gun in dark gray/black would have looked cool.
On the bright side, the eyes on Nitro don't look as dead as those on MechTech deluxe Bee. Am I the only one that notices that? MT Bee looks like he has black eyes and a skull instead of a head.
Agreed... I think his new size, leg re-design, purple windows & space detailing make him worthy of a buy - plus, now his wings are finally the height they should be.
Man, I really like this Bumblebee. I love how he looks, maybe it's because his sooo busy. I can't get enough busy. I will buy this when it comes out...BUT I'M GETTING SO DAMN SICK OF WAITING FOR EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE, NOT JUST TRANSFORMERS BUT EVERYTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait...uhhh, I feel better. But really, this figure, too cool.
Excellent pictures. Many thanks for the comparison shots, it really gets them all into perspective. Still loving my Battle Blades version most, though this and the Leader are rockin'.
Probably my biggest pet peeve with Transformers right now, especially when there's no excuse for it (Drift and WFC Megatron come to mind, i'm a bit more forgiving of WFC Prime's origami stomach). The ONLY reason I kinda want Nitro Bee is because he's the only movie BB figure ever to get his wheels inside the feet—but money's tight and this would make the third muscle car BB mold I own, and I'm not passing up on TF: Prime BB so this is probably a no-go.
