It's probably a good thing, but DotM Deluxe cars aren't really doing anything for me.

Except maybe for Barricade and Rocket-but Bumblebee.

Got one today. Hated the deco in the pics, hated it a bit less in person. But it's a fact that it could look SOOOOO much better. Why not blue like the last version?? Transformation is tricky, arms are funky, weapon is wicked. Not for everyone, but personally, I like it.

Really needs to be blue. Otherwise he's fantastic.

    Edit: Also adorable.

So I picked this guy up today because I thought he looked cool. But I've got a lot of complaints about this figure.

First, the arms. While I do think the articulation is nice, it bugs me that he can't simply BEND his arm up and down, like he's lifting weights. And what the heck are the things that flip out of his arms supposed to be?

Second, his feet. I just do not get how these things are supposed to work. I felt like I was breaking the figure in trying to get them to do what the instructions say they were supposed to do. His left leg just didn't work or something, I had to forcefully push down on the hood to get it to go down. And I can barely get him to stand with the way his feet are.

Third, his transformation. Again, I felt like I was breaking the figure at some points, like pulling the windows out in order to push them up or with the feet.

And fourth, the weapon. It's fun to play with, but it can't stay converted, which to me makes the converted half completely useless with the figure itself. Sure, I could sit here and convert it back and forth over and over again, but I'd rather pose it with the figure. My other deluxe's weapon (Barricade) also can't stay converted, so I'm thinking its Mechtech weapons as a whole, but if someone can tell me there's a way to keep it converted, that would be AWESOME.

So my final opinion of DOTM Jolt is it just let me down. It looks good, but it has so many things that take away its playability for me. I think it looks nicer than ROTF Jolt, but I'll keep playing with and transforming that one.

I must be in the minority, because I really like him. He does have his bad points – the arms and head just resting in place in bot mode rather than pegging into anything is annoying, and his colorscheme is lousy – but the mold is otherwise fantastic and the transformation is fun and different. And despite the overall shrinkage of the deluxe size class for DOTM, Jolt expands quite a bit into bot mode, until he's even taller than RTS Perceptor. There's just something about his bot mode that I love.

Apparently they are for Clip-on weapons like the ones seen through Generations-RTS.

Ah, that does seem to be what they're for. In that case, they're nice to have, especially since you can just put them away if you don't want to use them.

After initial bad reactions to my four purchases today (Jolt, Backfire, Icepick, and even to a much lesseer extent Barricade), I've gone back over the other three and found that I liked them more once I got their transformations down. I feel like Jolt will be better once I get his transformation set, but his feet still worry me.

I just picked him up from Target. Although I agree with most of the flaws listed here, they don't distract from what it otherwise a good figure. He is my movie-verse Blurr, because of his light blue color! :)

I actually like this guy. The feet/legs are very finiky. I thought I was going to break them. Overall, a fun figure.

I'm a fan of the Chevy Volt, I liked Jolt (as little as we saw him in TF2) in the movie, and I'm one of the BIG fans of the original toy. I'm tickled to see him back for the third and final Bay film, I'm less then enthused with his vehicle mode paint job. I can understand that Hasbro wanted him to be different from past variations but he is too different. They could have just done a solid blue paint scheme, but a different shade of blue. I would've been happier with that.

This grey version entices me, but I don't know if he entices me enough to buy him. He is one of those figures people are mixed about (like the original) but I like his robot mode. I do have a couple of questions I hope could be answered before I buy. One, how is the head articulation. And, two, how is the overall stability of him?

His head is on a ball-joint but its movement is limited by the shoulder-piece on which it is resting on. Rotation is 360 degrees but you can only lift it a few degrees upward.

Stability is pretty good thanks to his humongous feet, and allow for some posability. Getting him to stand upright, without falling forward, takes a little while to figure out, but as soon as you do, he's solid. The black part below his thigh has to be at an approximately 90 degree angle for him to stand comfortably but other poses work as well.

    I hope this helps! :)

I thank you very much for the info as it was very helpful. I did indeed get Jolt on my way home from work today. Aside from a few small problems, and nitpicks, I'm very pleased with him.*

Yes, his paint scheme is "off," folks. The more I look at him, though, the more he seems to look like an Allspark Powered version of his previous self. The teal/aqua may not match the Allspark blue, but I get a similar vibe from him. Jolt's description even says that he has a LOT of power flowing through him. Where he shines, and looks best, is in his robot mode and he really should have been packaged like this. His paint scheme feels more like something you'd get as as part of a set, or a freebie I.E. Comettor with Prime Wal-Mart Exclusive.

His transformation is similar to the more challenging RotF toys, even with his package saying his difficulty level is a two. Then again I don't think I have seen any DotM toys that weren't marked a two in difficulty! I do wish that there was a way that his eletro-whips could have been molded in somehow, somewhere. I liked the flip out ones the RotF version had and may even find a way to "borrow" them or make some new ones. Now, where is my Gundam Wing Epyon model kit and it's whip?

That brings me to his MechTech gun. While it is definitely one of my favorites of all of the MechTech weapons, I wish it could have switched from a blaster to an electro-whip (or was it electro-vine?). I mean, how is he going to help with recharging Optimus Prime now? Let him share an outlet to charge off of while they are both parked at home? Have an electrical cord coming out of his exhaust to plug into Prime, so when he applies his brakes he can gradually give him a boost? Poor androgynous Jolt has been emasculated by taking away his whips!*

It may take me awhile (if ever) to like how his vehicle mode looks, but I have RotF version for that! This guy may NEVER go back to vehicle mode, for all intents and purposes this version is a powered up version!

Despite the odd paint job in vehicle mode, I really love this figure. He's a very unique figure in terms of transformation and even his design aesthetics.

If I had to complain about anything with this guy I'll echo what others are saying: he does feel a little bit fragile. I wish the panels that his shoulders connect to could be pegged into place better. I think maybe they don't as an intentional move to give the figure more articulation in that area but I'm not sure, it just feels a little too loose. I don't mind the unusual arm design but I do wish that it had been done in such a way as to give Jolt a little bit more range of motion.

To me, he's perfect. Weird, yet odd lookin' fella. I'm glad he's a different color because to me it didn't feel like I bought the same figure twice. I have him placed back-to-back with ROTF Jolt, they look badass together. They're all bro-fisting and shit.

    RE: JOLT!

So, after playin' with him abit, I don't like how high his head is when that neck part goes ontop of his chest piece. So what I did was I pulled the bac bumper on his chest foward and slid the nec piece down and just let it sit in there Now his head is constantly looking forward. His chin hits the bac bumper, but it makes it look alot better I think.

So, has anyone else's broken? Just opened mine today, and one of the window/roof pieces broke clean through the peg the first time I pivoted it for transformation.

Stupid clear plastic in stressed areas. :mad

    No breaks yet! *fingers crossed*

Loving Jolt. Probably my favorite DOTM deluxe behind Crankcase, and tied with Starscream. Wish there had been some kind of "electro-whips" or whatever, but it doesn't detract from the figure at all.
