Generations Thundercracker Review (with pictures)

I got this today, only got it because it came with the wave from BBTS, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. I wasn't planning on replacing the Henkei one in my display, but damn, I think I'm going to.

Man...I am craving this guy badly. I guessing because, once I have him, my seekers will be complete. But damn, that blue that they used on him filthy beautiful. Just as gorgeous as the the blue they used on Generations Dirge.

I just did that tonight. Swapped the three seekers from the set and put them back in the box. Now the three Generations seekers are standing in their place.

I LOVE generations TC, he is really sweet! The silver paint is top notch on him I think it's nicer than Botcon TC and Henkei!

I was happy to put my Botcon version in the case along with Dirge and Thrust last night

Personally I've always preferred the darker colors on the G1 Thundercracker toy instead of the lighter blue from the cartoon so I'm VERY happy thats the route they chose to go with for the Generations release. Tight joints on mine and the guns peg in securely. Really makes you wonder what the hell Takara did to make the Henkei version so floppy and not allow the guns to peg in. No release of the mold that I have (and I have 25 versions, including KOs) have issues with the pegs or loose joints.

Anyway, I'm elated to have all six G1 Seekers have a domestic release! Even though I had the Botcon version I was more than willing to pick up the Generation release, and have another one coming with the Warpath wave to keep in the package

It is very much to Hasbro's credit that every time I buy the Seeker mold it gets tighter and fits together better. Thundercracker actually borders on too tight. Love the color scheme.

I don't think I'm going to turn into a Seeker nut, but I do like seeing TC next to Screamer.

Just got my bundle today. TC is GORGEOUS! The blue and especially that silver looks fantastic. It doesn't even look like it's paint. And yes everything is super SUPER tight. I was a bit nervous handling him there the first time I transformed him.

But wow......if he does turn out to be the end of the seeker mold use (not counting G2 Ramjet of course), they went out with a bang with it.

And I am so happy to finally have my seekers complete.

I'm SO glad this guy finally made it stateside! I'm extremely happy with his deco, and I want to wish luck to anyone trying to find Skywarp and complete the trio!

It rocks to get all 3 jets (Dirge/Thrust/TC) within a few months of each other!

Just a quick FYI.

I opened up my second Thundercracker today, and it is also pretty tight. Nothing to the point of breaking but tough nonetheless.

I can't stop looking at my TC. I'm glad to have all of the classics seekers now. Now I have to figure out what I will do to my custom. Remove the paint and turn him into Sunstorm? A new character?

Mine arrived today, and his colours really "pop". I used a Gundam marker on Starscream to give his turbine nipples and the vents on his legs a bit of colour, I really don't feel the need with Thundercracker.

To be really nitpicky, the areas where the plastic has been removed from the sprues are a bit messy, and the paint apps are a little sloppy in places, but the mold has held up really well considering its age. Overall it's a nice figure in what has been a spectacular wave.

With all the great TF's and the Nintendo 3DS arriving, it's getting very tight on the old wallet this month.
