Hello. I just got this figure and I was a bit surprised when I opened the package. Now, I'm a fan of chromed figures and willing to pay the extra cost to import them for certain characters. Yeah, I'm a sucker for it so shoot me. Grapple happens to be one of those characters; however, when I opened the box, there was no chrome at all on the figure. He looks just about the same as Universe 2.0/Reveal the Shield Solar Storm Grapple (or whatever his name is here in the states). Did anyone else get the Transformers United version of this figure and if so, did yours have chromed pieces? The figure itself is quite nice but I'm a bit miffed that I paid all this extra and it didn't have any chrome. Before anyone asks, yes, I contacted BBTS to ask if this was a fluke or if they are all like that. Had I known this, I would have gotten the one here in the states for a whole lot less.
I'm not sure what the differences are, could you post pics of yours? The United version should have a colored head
I'll post some pics tomorrow. It's getting a bit late where I am. To give you an idea though, it looks about identical to Universe 2.0 Grapple.
Henkei is pretty much over. There is not really any chrome on United figs just metallic paint on some. Even the US version of Perceptor has way more chrome than the United release.
There's zero chrome on United Perceptor. Actually, none of the United figures got the chrome treatment, just silver paint apps.
Yeah my Megatron isn't "chrome" it's just got like shiny bits here and there. None of the paint on Grapple is metallic? Huh. I thought that was United's "gimmick".
There's also an Autobot symbol on the front of United Grapple, and he has additional silver paint in vehicle mode. The orange/yellows are slightly different colors between the two as well. Randy
