All I know is the ladder on mine isn't finicky, it turns slightly and locks the cannon in place. Is the problem on some that the ladder doesn't actually lock?

 

My ladder clicks just fine. You just have to push and rotate.

 

got the megatron today, no loss joint or anything, and the ladder lock trick works too
one question though, is it really possible to have the cape covering the right shoulder like the back of the box shown?

 

I guess you could - but you'd have to disconnect the hood from the cape to have the same effect...

The box photo is just mirrored, that's all. You'll see that a lot of the times, the photo being flipped for layout reasons, with disregard to whether the actual toy can do that or not.

 

Oh my god why did I wait so long to pick this guy up? Screw the leader class, this little voyager is just plain awesome no matter how you slice it. I cannot stop playing with the mechtech gun. It's so perfect. If it only had a less drab color scheme, somehow had ankle articulation, and perhaps a wrist swivel, it would be my favorite voyager mold ever.

 

Might be possible to do a wrist swivel by replacing the pin hinge with a ball-joint, but making the wrist fold as tight as the pin hinge would require very delicate opening of the side of the ball-socket...

 

That might work. But I can see where you are coming from with regards to the delicate opening. Will try that this weekend when I have the time.

 

It is about a billion times easier to live with no wrist swivel when he wrist is locked in the correct position. *Glares at leader Starscream*

So Megatron gets a pass on his wrists from me.

 

Question: Is the Mech Tech cannon supposed to droop in Robot mode if it isn't resting on Megatron's middle finger?

did anyone else on his right leg have the tank piece assembled incorrectly. mine's tank piece is only riveted into the on side of the joint that collapses around it. That sucks because now his leg looks all cockeyed

 

Think I will buy this guy when I get paid this Thursday. The pictures I see if him the more I want him. Hoping for a leader figure of him though.

 

Brushed on some krazy glue, let it seep in between the upper elbow hinge. Now his right arm doesn't flop around with the fusion cannon attached! Also got a lil glue around the peg hole, now the cannon doesn't fit all loosely!

 

My first DOTM toy.

Overall I rather like it.

The short stature was somewhat off putting. Still being short myself i can look past it.

Managed to figure out the locking mechanism on the weapon after a minute or two.

Transformation was a bit of a pain. Mostly just having to line everything up properly.

Not sure if he is my favorite movie Meagtron might take some time. I'd recommend him.

Shockwave will be my last DOTM toy unless Voyager Sentinel can impress me.

 

I highly recommend using pledge future shine on any transformer ( or figure for that matter ) instead of super glue or nail polish. You don't risk permanently altering your figure and it fixes even the loosest joints. I have had a bottle for 3 years, and I swear by it. I will say that I love this figure! I exchanged voyager ironhide for him, and could not be happier! Best megatron since animated....

 

great toy, got it friday. just curious anyone missing a wheel for the truck? i have a missing wheel for his left leg, where the wheels would bend in during transformation. didn't realize it was missing till i was messing with it to convert into robot mode. i made sure to look in the box and around my table to see if the wheel may have fallen off but i think he's wheel less there lol.

 

Nope - mine has all the wheels, I'd suggest replacing him.

 

Has anybody came up with an adequate replica for his shotgun? I've looked around and really can't find anything that would fit in my collection, everything is either to small/tiny for him (Kup's rifle) or doesn't look like a shotgun enough.

I would love to see someone come up with one he can sling over his shoulder like in the render.
