Got Megatron today. Messed with him for ten minutes, now he's on my painting station waiting for my finish to dry. Pics to follow probably tommorow. Need to make him a cloth cowl.

Love, love, love this Megatron - it's suitibly powerful looking, and lacks the ugly proportions or shoddy design work of previous voyagers. (The value of an actual alt-mode?) I also love how enigmatic he looks. I love Hugo Weavings voice for movie Megs, and I can really hear him speaking with this body.

Next step is to find a prime with a small enough truck to not look silly, but who grows enough for robot mode to not be waist high. I'm thinking collar bone height. The Mechtech gun is a slight sad bit - simply because it's nessercery for alt mode, but can't be hidden in robot mode. It's on his back whilst I try to find a shotgun for him.

Finished my painting early. Amazing how some quick detailing and dirtying really makes him seem to pop. Breaks up the flat plastic colours really nicely, I think. New cowl is only temporary, but it looks better than the thing he came with for now.

I can't believe no one has caught this yet-you can use the joint that allows the truck to bend in the middle to give him a wider, more natural stance. Its hidden within the instructions (step 14 when going to truck mode, step 6 going to robot) His hips end up a bit wider, but it helps maake him look more dynamic in a simple standing pose.

Only thing is you need to make the tilt, THEN tilt the wheels otherwise it all locks up
bumping this

Hm. I actually prefer the more comon appearance. He suits the leaner look, IMO.

Wait, looking at the photos: is there a way to get his fusion cannon to remain extended rather than sucking back in to become a truck part on his arm?

Twist the ladder to the right when it's extended. It's meant to lock in place, but it largely relys upon the internal mechanism working right. My Megs cannon is fine, but my ironhide cannon can't lock for toffee.

I picked Megatron up yesterday, and I'm loving this guy. I think this design trumps his previous two by leaps and bounds. As much as I'm enjoying this figure, it has produced an unfortunate side-effect of longing for a leader version all the more. The possible improvements / enhancments afforded by a leader class DotM Megs would really knock this design out of the ball park.
