I wouldn't mind, but give me a good Ultra Magnus first.

I'd love that, particularly to fit with Red Alert and Sideswipe

It's kinda soon, and doesn't he already scale well with MP-10 when he's Rodimus Prime?

Yes and yes. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing an appropriately sized Hot Rod after a few more key figures have been given the MP treatment.

I tried to remove a pin on a junker, but they break super easy. I wasn't surprised. I mean this toy easily breaks, and stresses when transforming it. The hinges are thin, and fragile.

The thing is, the hinges, and tabs stress, and break so effortlessly it feels like soft butter separating when they fall off. I pressed on the back packs tabs gently with my fingertip, the ones that stress so often, and they came off so easily I laughed. In my experience the pieces attached to model kit frames that are meant to be removed have much better attachments.

I've had handled four MP Rodimus figures. my Takara version is staying in robot mode permanently, and the Hasbro version in Car mode.

I had the windshield hinge break happen to me and didn't widen the hole the first time I glued it, so it just broken again when pressure was applied. I've got my MP09v2 for sale for now, but if I get a chance to repair him does anyone know of an appropriate paint that will match his orange color?

Fiddled around with mine today [hasbro version] and noted something that most of you may\may not know.

His feet are on that black\gray joint that ratchets near his calf, right? The one with the indentation at that one point?

I remember some video reviews at the beginning stating that the indentation was the "STOP" point [ie when it touches the red plastic of his calf, stop] for the part's movement to transform to vehicle mode.

Sometimes during transformation I noticed that the part would sometimes slip in the calf [one ratchet's worth further] and nothing that different would happen.

Today I tried it on both legs and voila, that's not the stop point for the leg, that's the point that HAS to go further into the calf to set the feet joints exactly as they're supposed to go in car mode. Sometimes one side of my Rodimus' arms would not clip in securely in vehicle mode, but with that extra click, EVERYTHING locks and clips solidly into place.

Did most other fans know that or was it just my ignorance and guidance from that one video review that prevented me from having a perfect Rodimus car mode for years?

It was a while ago, but I think I seen the same review. I had a hell of a time with the feet/hands, so I watched every review I could find, and ONE showed me exactly what to do. Since then I just understand it..and Now it tabs together as solid as a rock.

TF'd mine a few times the other day...still dont see no signs of problems. Too bad there wasnt a "batch number" we could get off these toys and see if something corolates...the good..the bad...and the busted.

Well I do have a batch number [or rather, serial code number] for takara's 1st and 2nd releases, but none for hasbro.

Not that it'd make much of a difference, as there's reports of V2.0 breaking as well on Takara's Rodimus.

Hopefully my Hasbro Rodimus stays the way he is; perfect.

Not sure what's causing the problems on the hasbro editions, but I'm thinking it's the way the pins are inserted in the joints. Some that go at a slight angle clip onto the plastic, breaking it? Some may have knurled ends that are eating the plastic, while others don't?

Frankly, I'm disturbed by all the horror stories with this guy.

I'm trying to get an MP-09 now, but it seems like, no matter the version, none of them are safe.

Coupled with past experience I had with an old TRU Rodi (the right arm broke), I'm conflicted. Rodimus is awesome and show-accurate, but the designers really over-extended themselves with the design. The "good enough" engineering approach just doesn't hold up with today's manufacturing standards (I'm guessing).

This is the only figure now that I'm officially scared to transform. It should never have to be that way, least of all with a Masterpiece.

There seems to be a ton of problems but it may be anecdotal. I have had three versions of the mold (Takara V1 and V2 and Hasbro) and have had no serious problems, meaning breaking joints. My V1 had all the standard complaints but they were just annoyances, other than that leg panel, which I was able to fix with a drop of super glue. Nothing else has broken or stressed on any of them and they were all Tramsformed dozens of times.

I keep mine in car mode, I want to love this figure but in robot mode I cannot stand his "back pack".

In car mode he looks great and for anyone having trouble getting his hands to lock in right I learned a simple trick swap his hands out into his second mode. They lock right in and you wont see any ugly fingers tucked under the car.

I own the Hasbro Version and have had nothing but fun with it. If I had a complaint it would be that the wing/body joint is a little floppy. I do want to get the Tak version, but that is mainly for the trailer.

I own the Hasbro version, and his left shoulder disintegrated under the force of it's own weight. I literally had not touched it for months (which probably indicates how much I enjoyed it prior to gravitic amputation), picked it up, and noticed the arm was lying on the shelf (suffice to say, my opinion did not improve).

    Pity.

Anyone have a pic, or how his feet should be in robot mode. You know you have all those ratchets and stuff. I never know which way to angle them.

Reposted from much earlier in this thread. If you do this everything lines up perfectly. If you don't it drags on two or three wheels.
